when I looked at the photo again I realized that Richard burton's face as well as Elizabeth's face is more fuller. So this seems to be indeed another film.
Hard to believe this movie won, in 1966, the Academy Award not only for Best Foreign Film but also (and that's really unbelievable) for... Best Writing !!!
Can you imagine ?!
With movies like THE FORTUNE COOKIE or the outstanding THE NAKED PREY competing that very same year ?!!
A few months earlier of that same year Jean-Louis Trintignant had achieved a real good and touching and original movie starring Marie Dubois and directed by Serge Korber :
UN GARCON, UNE FILLE. LE DIX-SEPTIEME CIEL (1966)
From Imdb :"Trintignant is a dreamer who becomes the hero of James Bondesque adventures when he's sleeping.Actually he's a window cleaner and when he meets lovely blonde Dubois, he pretends he's a novelist, working on his next book.Dubois herself is a maid in a castle but she pretends to be the squire's daughter. So they think that their love is impossible and they try their best not to reveal their real personality."
And I can assure you there's more inventivity, poetry and originality in one single sequence of that movie than in the entire Lelouch's one !
