"The truth is out there".

Has anyone heard GROUND ZERO on the radio?........If so, would you admit it?

"Did John Wilkes Booth evade capture by Union troops and live under an assumed name to a ripe old age in Texas ?"

"We'll talk with Vivian Scoochamenze about her upcoming new book, On the Trail of Booth's Mummy."

"From the desert, and all points between, this is Coast to Coast. I'm Art Bell ."

(Cue up a cut from Ray Lynch's "Deep Breakfast" album.)

I've never had a burning desire to pay for radio and Art Bell coming back won't change my mind about that. Too much else to do, watch, and listen to elsewhere. But I wish him good luck. Richard Hoagland must be ecstatic about this. He can now ramble on endlessly by phone about UFO and alien sightings in the middle of the night again.

ANZALDIMAN:

Have you noticed that Hoagland's Face on Mars looks like Art Bell without his glasses?

Oh, goodie, more stories about shadow people, aliens, and the hole in the ground that sounds like Hell. I think I'll just continue sleeping at night.

I dunno..

The latest enhanced "Face" image I saw looks more like Chuck Heston to me.

Some of the less-than-credible guests I remember include:

The futurist who was a perennial guest who predicted California would fall into the sea years ago, his alma mater USC would beat Texas for the NCAA football title and Osama bin Laden was killed years ago by a B-52 strike while hiding in a cave in Afghanistan. All predictions were wrong.....and the futurist was later arrested by the feds for fraud or a similar financial felony.

Then there's remote viewer Maj. Ed Dames, another frequent guest.....who has been discredited by the other remote viewers who were part of the Army's Stargate project.

But the COAST TO COAST conspiracies are miniatures compared to those on GROUND ZERO.

Exactly. Nobody ever goes back to listen to all these experts and guests to see if years later their predictions were true, and if what they claimed to know or be, actually panned out later.

I remember when I used to listne to the show, for example, Art left a line open which he called the Anti-Christ Hotline. If you call in and swear you were the anti-Christ or Satan (I think Satan was also allowed), you got on the air and he asked you some questions. Of course none of it panned out and it was obviously just lying liars who wre given a venue in which to make national jackwagons out of themselves, for low entertainment value.

I can imagine a delete scene in "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier":

Kirk: "Excuse me, but what does Satan need with a telephone line?"

It kind of gets tiring hearing about lizard people, transdimentional lifeforms, and Mel's hole (no, not dirty), almost every other night.

Remember the guy who's dog was destroyed by an alien on a hiking trip? The guy killed the alien, then supposedly took it home and put it in his freezer? He was on a few times, then was never heard from again. (Come to think of it, maybe he was abducted!)

That type of show is fun to listen to for a while for its novelty value, but grows old real fast....

I was wondering if any of you had the opportunity to hear Phil Hendry's satirical impersonation of Bell and his show. To me it was hilarious. Now if Hendry was coming back on the air...

Yeah, I've heard it. Pretty spot on, and funny!

(What ever happened to Hendry? Last I'd heard, he was going to try his hand at TV and movies...)
