From the civility thread on the other side of the board -

Me:

Absolutely - disagreeing can be as much fun as agreeing. As long as both sides appreciate that there really isn't a "correct" answer.

Last Child:

really? 2+2 doesnt always equal 4? Well I'll be darned, learn something new every day!

You're pleased to use a simplistic example to poke fun. Fair enough! I've been known to do that kind of thing myself on occasion. No, really! However, not wishing to resurrect the other thread particularly, I thought I'd point out here that in certain circumstances, the answer to 2 + 2 may not be 4. If you have a house number 2 from the hardware shop, and you add another number 2 to it, you end up with 22 smile

And then by coincidence I came across the following little conundrum - so what's the answer?

6 - 1 x 0 + 2 / 2 = ?

(when / means divided by)

My good friend MusicMad, who's got a head for numbers, would probably get it right, but he's on holiday right now! This is thrown out to everyone...

I got the same answer as Urs.

I believe that is the right answer.

This is almost as good as your football trivia conundrum, TG....smile

Isn't it 5 ?

For a man of your learned abilities, TG, you do surprise me ...

But I thank you for your kind words ...

My good friend MusicMad, who's got a head for numbers, would probably get it right, but he's on holiday right now! This is thrown out to everyone...

When I started to read your OP, I thought you were going to pose the question: when does 2 + 2 = 11?

From my hotel bedroom (near Saltzburg) smile

Today we move on to (near) Innsbruck but with no wi-fi available at the next hotel it may seem a lonely place ... frown

And completely off-topic: having spotted a few of the sites re: The Sound of Music - we've haven't opted for the tour! - yesterday we visited Hohenwerfen Fortress ... I kept wanting to shout out Calling Danny Boy ... . Strangely, there was no reference anywhere to the film ... confused

Dang! Thanks, Rick. Well, it's only been 40 years since high school...

Re: 6 - 1 x 0 + 2 / 2 = ?

I can see [6-1 X 0] + [2/2] equalling 7

But doesn't 6-1 (5) x 0 (still 5) + 2 (7)/2 equal 3.5?

That's the way I learned math way back when.

yes, if one of them get's pregnant.
Okay, I'm mixing Jackfu's reply to a different question. Anything for a laugh.

I was looking for an old post and stumbled on this thread - wasnt aware of it back in the day.
