THE WALKING DEAD---new photo released from Season 4 showing Michonne riding a horse. Executive producer Gale Ann Hurd explained, "With gas at a premium, with the fact that vehicles break down, I think we would return to the days of horseback riding and you can graze them as you go in a place like Georgia. You don’t have to carry food for them. They feed themselves, so to speak. It goes along with the new approach this season of sustainability. With a horse, you can go through the woods. You can get around obstacles. You can’t do that in a vehicle. If a tree falls and blocks the road, you can’t go through the forest. You’re not going to make it through. It’s actually much more of a useful choice. Not only that, but Michonne looks so badass on it.”
ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK---sources say Laura Prepon is leaving the Netflix series and might return for guest appearances in Season 2 to wrap up her storyline. She has not signed a contract for Season 2. Prepon's representatives refused to comment on the reports, and Netflix stated, "not accurate. Our season is still developing and nothing is confirmed."
STAR WARS: EPISODE VII---a source explained Emperor Palpatine, who was killed off in RETURN OF THE JEDI, might return as a "Force Ghost" similar to Obi-Wan Kenobe's appearances in the original movies. Palpatine was training another apprentice when he died.
24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY---Fox Entertainment chief Kevin Reilly commented on the 12-part miniseries, "This is going to be set in an international setting. I have been really heartened by the amount of equity left in the show. I am stopped by fans all the time, thanking me for bringing it back." On "real time", he explained, "We’ll keep it a 24 hour story but we’ll tell 7-8, 8:15-9:15, 10-11 and then skip 3 hours if we need to. I think it’s going to actually make us not have to do the pretzel logic of some of the stuff."
MACHETE KILLS---Amber Heard, Johnny Depp's girlfriend and RUM DIARIES co-star, commented on declaring her bisexuality in 2010, "I didn't want to look like I was hiding anything. I'm not, and wasn't ever, ashamed." Heard co-stars in MACHETE KILLS with Danny Trejo, Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen, Jessica Alba and Sofia Vergara.
JURASSIC PARK 4---director Colin Trevorrow commented on plot rumors, “I saw some of the rumors on the internet and I would have all kinds of red flags going off if I heard they were going to muzzle a T-Rex. So I would say don’t believe everything you read, there are way more insiders on the internet than there are in real life.” He gave an ambiguous reply to if composer John Williams is returning to the franchise, “Do I love John Williams and all of his music? Of course.”
SOLDIERS OF THE SUN---Vin Diesel stars in this sci fi movie which is intended to be a franchise for Universal Pictures. The movie is set in the post-apocalyptic future where a team of soldiers battle alien Orcs for a legendary city of hidden gold in Mexico.
RED SPARROW---20th Century Fox movie underway based on the spy novel in which a beautiful Russian spy is a Sparrow who is assigned to seduce a young CIA agent who the handler for Russia's top Mole double agent. Darren Aronofsky is in talks to direct.
THE MONEY---HBO pilot from David Milch (DEADWOOD) starring Brendan Gleeson as the head of a vast media empire and family who are plagued with corruption and scandal.
KICKBACK---John Cusack is in negotiations to co-star with Mischa Barton, Sean Astin and Michael Biehn in this movie about a Moscow police detective's investigation of a female war correspondent's murder. This leads to uncovering a conspiracy involving chemical weapons and a plot to assassinate the Russian president.
MARVEL ZOMBIES---George Romero said he's writing a new zombie comic book for Marvel, “Max Brooks and I do these panel discussions together and he believes that humans don’t stand a chance. I don’t know… I’m writing a comic book series right now for Marvel. I can’t really say anything about the story, but I’ll just say that the zombies are advancing even a little further...It’s fifteen books, so it’s long. It’s the equivalent of two and a half screenplays. It’s a novel basically and, in fact, I might novelize it.” It will be published in 2014.
KAY SCARPETTA---untitled movie underway based on an upcoming novel to be published in 2014. Fox 2000 President Elizabeth Gabler said, "One of our greatest priorities is to begin production on the film as soon as possible [2015 premiere]." The new novel is the first of two for new publisher HarperCollins Imprint William Morrow.
SKINWALKER RANCH---sci fi found footage movie based on the infamous Sherman Ranch in Utah which is nicknamed "Skinwalker Ranch" because of scientific investigations of numerous UFO and Bigfoot sightings and cattle mutilations. Premiere is October 30.
