Found this through a friend on Facebook. 424 signatures so far.

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/sailormoondiccues/

"Please sign this petition if you want the DiC music released! Please show Lalaland Records the DiC Sailor Moon music is worth releasing! They released Batman music because of a petition! Please make this happen by spreading the word and sharing it. We all want all the cues! We have the original music so why can't we have the dub music as well!? Good timing to release the cues as well with the revival and the new anime out!"

They released Batman music because of a petition!

I believe this to be not true.

Sailor Moon was an animated (anime?) series that aired in the US in the mid 90s. My daughter liked it for a while. She even had a set of Sailor Moon dolls. However, her interest in them waned and she returned to her first love - Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

I jokingly asked her if she would be signing the petition and she just rolled her eyes at me.

This will give you an idea:

Yeah, that's not true. MV previously said that releasing all Bat music was one of their goals when they started.

This kind of anime has to be heard in Japanese. It loses all it's charm otherwise.

I absolutely love the original Sailor Moon OST:

I've never seen the dubbed version, or did I know they re-scored the series for the US market. Hopefully someone will release it for the US fans.

Well much of the dub music WAS released on a disc called the "Full Moon Collection" but I goes for a pretty penny.
http://www.amazon.com/Sailor-Moon-Full-Collection/dp/B00006SFAQ/

It wasn't all of it though -- granted there's not much. A disc of ONLY the instrumental music probably would be under 30 minutes at my guess. The songs like with many kids shows had to be rerecorded for CD and thus the TV versions were never heard on disc, so a 'proper' release of all the dub music would be somewhat welcome (I admit the songs are pretty catchy and the BGM has its moments). It should easily all fit on a single disc without all the somewhat unrelated songs added to the 'Lunarock' CD.

That said...it's probably not feasible for various reasons, despite the fan base that would likely make it a good (though not great) seller.

If an online petition was standing right in front of me I would PUNCH it in the face.

I would then let 6 days pass -- enough time for the wound to heal -- then PUNCH it in the face again so it remembers just how much I hate IT and all its useless, pointless kind.

Other than that, a Sailor Moon release would be quite welcome. I would love to make it happen some day. smile

Nice one! smile
So what about a German Sailor-Moon Version, too? Back in the days I was quite a fan of it ... razz

On a more serious note: Would "Angel" (the Buffy Spin-Off) a realistic possibility for La-La-Land?
I found the the music really good and despite it having an actual CD-release, there's quite some missing music - especially the "real" Angel Main-Title!

They'll release it... when they release music from the original He-Man. XD

Be patient. Sometiems releases can take years to happen. I've seen over at Intrada, the head man say some releases have been eight, even one at ten years, in the making. It takes time to clear up rights issues (which can even involve finding out who exactly holds the rights to something), and it can take time to even locate the master tapes. I know it seems contrary, but you can go looking for them and they aren't where they are supposed to be; you open it up and something else is in there; you only find some of the material on the shelf; you find nothing because the studio threw away/recorded over the tapes to save money, so you have to go hunting for alternate sources.

MV has previously stated Hasbro is hard to work with (or some words to that affect).

And if you see MV or some other label head state they would like to do something and add a smiley face to it, you know they mean well -- no reason to tear them down.

That was for Transformers (In fact, that's precisely one of those releases which take years to happen. The composer have confirmed that it's in the works on numerous occasions over the years.). wink

Classic media owns the rights for 80's He-Man and problem with He-Man is that one moment it's in the works and another it's not. Just what is going on with it?

I'd settle for music from The Real Ghostbusters first.

I'd like that one too.
