I didn't read all the posts, but is this confirmed? I know a company did some remastering tests to sell the idea to FOX. But I don't know if they got the go ahead, (finances) to actually do the entire series.
I don't know if it's confirmed, & most of the posts are about the aspect ratio. I found where it started on the classic horror film board. I suppose it's just watch this space.
Just watched the Lost In Space episode A Visit To Hades and I have to say that is one of the funniest LIS episodes I ever remember seeing! Gerald Mohr hit it out of the ballpark. Marta Kristen cry baby act and Mark Goddard's tough guy act were hilarious. LIS is usually unintentionally funny, or intentionally cringe worthy but this one is a diamond in the ruff. LIS's own "A Piece Of The Action".
Seems to me that most of the times "restored" and the likes mean the image is slightly sharper more of one colour and a lot darker. And not rarely does the sound run of into the jungle.
Captain Scarlet on DVD is a lot darker than the CS I recorded in the 90s of the BBC. Now that can be explained by many obvious things but I also canĀ“t see a lot of things anymore I could see before. Dark sections in vehicles become completely black and switches and levers are no longer visible. So it could be that something is gained but also somethings may be lost.
I think the remastered samples look a lot sharper and yes it's a bit more saturated. Personally I think it's a huge improvement over what we have now on MeTV. I believe in preserving content in it's original state though. So it would be great to have both the standard def and remastered on the same set.
