I just heard in a separate thread on the Gatsby score being added to Amazon, that the Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon score album on mp3 by Steve Jablonsky was removed from Amazon.
Having verified this, does anyone know why, whether it would be added back, or if there have been examples like this in the past? Similarly, I assume that for those of you who have Amazon cloud, that it was not removed?
It's a bit disheartening, as the album isn't available on CD.
I'm not sure why they ended up removing this, but it's the only release I've paid attention to that disappeared like this, to my knowledge. I never bought the thing, so I wouldn't be able to check the cloud.
I know there was a lot of hubub around the time of release that one of the cues was almost a direct rip-off of a piece called "Mind Heist" - maybe there's some legal action pending, and the album was removed from the market until it is resolved?
Didn't Steve Jablonsky post here once, or someone copied&pasted a comment from him regarding the score release coming out for a special edition blu ray release......I assume this never happened?
The thing had sold enough to just about hit the next level of NEW USAGE PAYMENTS to the AFM and the label didn't want to make that rather HUGE PAYMENT and they decided to pull it down before they had to.
That is why the CD was deleted according to my sources.
Does anyone have knowledge of an expanded soundtrack release for any of the Transformers movies? With the first movie score out of print and the third not even getting a physical release I would think these would be prime for the expanded treatment.
Two quick notes: please excuse my lame pun and I realize one of our great labels would have jumped on this if it were possible.
All the more reason to make sure you make a backup of anything you buy from iTunes of Amazon. That way they can't zap it from your device if they have to later remove it.

Exactly! It's only in the cloud as long as it doesn't cost them an arm and a leg.

Hmmm, kinda like the V'ger cloud. Zaps stuff out of existence?
