I was wondering how this movie will correspond with the previous recent Chris Nolan Batman movies.

As far as we know, this movie will be reintroducing Batman and so will not be a continuation of the Christopher Nolan Batman (as far as we know).

Even though Christopher Nolan will be involved as producer, and more than likely Hans Zimmer will be doing the score, do you think Hans Zimmer is going to reuse his existing Nolan Batman themes?? or will he create something completely new?

Essentially, the Ben Affleck Batman in this Superman Movie will be a rebooted version, so surely that means new themes?

Everyone bangs on about how new series/reboots should have totally new themes with no correspondance to previous ones, so I wonder how Zimmer is going to do this one (if indeed he does do it)

Since Zimmer already did the score for the previous series of Batman, Do any of you actually think he is going to bring us something new or just continue with his previous themes?

He can't reuse his Black Rain theme again for Batman I guess!? Unless he really wants to!

Its quite interesting to see a composer get the opportunity to essentially score the music for the same character so quickly (less than 3 years later) but now in a different cinematic universe.

I doubt the setting and general feel of this Batman will be that much different though, considering Nolan is still guiding Snyder for this movie.

Almost certainly it will be something completely new (except insofar as they're both Hans Zimmer). This is a different Batman existing in a different world and will have a different approach. What that approach will be depends on how they approach the character of Batman -- will he be a detective trying to find Superman? Will he be a gothic dark knight type hunting down Superman as a threat? Who knows how they'll play it? Will he be a businessman whose Wayne Enterprises is working with LexCorp and starts off opposed to Superman through that angle?

So?

Star Trek got a reboot, but they still used the Courage fanfare. Casino Royale was a reboot of James Bond, but they still used his theme.

The Dark Night scores are very popular with the younger generation. Zimmer carried over the minimalist approach into Man Of Steel. It's what producers want to hear. I don't see any changes whatsoever.

Wait... you mean that Zimmer's previous BATMAN scores had themes?!?!?!?

[Sorry, I couldn't resist big grin]

Is "Minimalist" the new "I cannot compose complex music"?

Actually they are very different if you pay attention though all of them are beautiful.
Man of Steel is far from Dark Knight's scores as much as from Elman's Batman.

I heard a rumor that Elfman and Williams are co composing this score. Should be interesting.

We can't get anyone from Marvel to score a sequel (I guess Silvestri on Avengers kind of counts) but DC will have Zimmer score everything. TANJ.

OTOH, a Zimmer Aquaman could be cool.

Damn. I just realized that I really DO want to see an epic EPIC Aquaman movie. I need to lie down.
