THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON---James Spader was confirmed to co-star as Ultron.
MAN OF STEEL--director Zack Snyder responded to fan criticism of the mass destruction in Metropolis caused by Gen. Zod, “I wanted the movie to have a mythological feeling. In ancient mythology, mass deaths are used to symbolize disasters. In other countries like Greece and Japan, myths were recounted through the generations, partly to answer unanswerable questions about death and violence. In America, we don’t have that legacy of ancient mythology. Superman is probably the closest we get. It’s a way of recounting the myth.”
SUPERMAN VS. BATMAN---Justin Timberlake commented on if he would like to reunite with Ben Affleck, his co-star in RUNNER RUNNER, as Robin to Affleck's Batman, "Not a chance in hell. I ain't playin' Robin. I have no aspiration to ever be a superhero in a movie. Now VILLAIN! Ill tell you the villain I want to play more than anything because I grew up loving Batman, funny enough, is the Riddler. The Riddler is my favorite villain."
"The Riddler was like a sociopath. He was proper crazy. So if I'm gonna play crazy, I'm wanna play proper crazy. I'm ready. The Riddler. Gimme a call."
Timberlake is in negotiations to produce a remake of Taylor Hackford's 1980 movie THE IDOLMAKER.
CHILD 44---Vincent Cassel has replaced Philip Seymour Hoffman in this movie based on the novel about a Soviet military cop investigating a serial killer who preys on children. Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace and Gary Oldman also star.
THE RAID---US remake of the Indonesian cult movie is underway with a script by Jon and Erich Hoeber (RED, BATTLESHIP) that is described as "incredibly faithful to the original". Gareth Evans returns as director.
VIKINGS---producer Barrie Osborne (LORD OF THE RINGS) is developing an untitled biomovie trilogy about Harald Hardrada, the last Viking king, that will be filmed in Norway. It's not known if this is the same biomovie about Hardrada that is being developed by Warner Bros. and Leonardo DiCaprio.
LONGMIRE---A&E renewed the series for Season 3.
WARCRAFT---the movie based on the video game "World of Warcraft" starts filming on January 13 in Vancouver with Duncan Jones (MOON) as director.
FRANNY---Richard Gere stars in this movie about a hedonistic millionaire who befriends newlyweds to re-create the life he once had.
LES MISERABLES---untitled Fox drama series from Rob Thomas (VERONICA MARS) which is a present day version of LES MISERABLES described as, "a brilliant lawyer running a legal exoneration program who fights to evade the consequences of his own unjust conviction many years before. He must navigate high society, continue his mission of saving innocent people, and manage his tumultuous family and romantic life — all while staying one step ahead of a ruthless U.S. Attorney who refuses to let the ghosts of the past die."

Oh? That's a new one to me...
- oh, alright, I'll bite. How?
Well in my opinion neither can emote, or have screen presence. He's totally flat and one dimensional.
Wow, really? James Spader? I mean, I've seen that complaint about Ben Affleck before, but never about James Spader. Something new every day, I guess...
