I'm surprised to find I've seen four of those films, besides perhaps the most obvious, Snow White, I've also seen Wells Fargo, Lost Horizon and The Prisoner of Zenda.

Yes, it's always a big shock to discover films existed before the advent of electronic scoring.

McCarey's MAKE WAY FOR TOMORROW, are :

A STAR IS BORN
EASY LIVING

I've been in the process of listing my favorite films going backwards from 2012 year by year on my blog. I haven't gotten back to '37 yet, so I'll let the article "1937 in film" on Wikipedia and the previous posts in this thread help me out!

    The Awful Truth
    A Damsel in Distress
    Elephant Boy
    Grand Illusion
    High, Wide and Handsome
    Make Way for Tomorrow
    Nothing Sacred
    Pepe le Moko
    Shall We Dance
    Stage Door
    A Star is Born
    Way Out West
    Young and Innocent

I still need to see: A whole lot. There are still both a good deal of classics (not only from '37, but the 1930s as a whole) and lesser known, but intriguing films (my favorite title on the Wiki list: "Humanity and Paper Balloons" from Japan) I want to view. smile

For your information, a "LOL" is not a cry of shock.

    Hope you feel better now.

Mm... undoubtedly Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I must confess I haven't seen many movies from that year (or that general time), though I do want and intend to see many more.
