It's now very early in the morning on September 3rd in California, and I'm just seeing this thread! So, obviously, I've missed your Birthday, Mr. Ron! But anyway.....here's wishing you a very HAPPY, though slightly belated, BIRTHDAY..... and many, many more---Birthdays, that is---not belated Birthdays!!!! Did you have a party, with lots of noisemakers and funny hats? As I get older, more childish, and more senile, that's what I tend to gravitate to, AND, as you get older you realize you can get away with a lot more. Did you have a little Birthday cake with lots of candles, or a much bigger Birthday cake with far less candles? I always tend to go with the bigger cake and more layers---lots to eat. But because of the fire restrictions, not too many candles. 70+ IS too many for me---particularly when you're called "Manderley"---though the blaze is quite pictorial! But once more---HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREETINGS, old friend!

Same from me, Ron. I mentioned in an earlier post that I'd more or less stopped looking at Bookface, so if you're reading this here you'll know I'm not deliberately ignoring you. Happy bidet!

Thanks for ALL the messages, belated and otherwise. Dogbelle, it was all "with pay". Manderley...quiet and subdued. There was coconut cake and pina colada cake. I had myself a big lunch (roast chicken, succotash, fresh sliced tomatoes). I spoke with friends and family on the phone throughout the day. And I treated myself to a few films on Blu ray including "The Dark Knight Rises" (which induced headache, thanks to Mr. Zimmer's score and the overwrought, over-amped sound effects) and the wonderful "Peggy Sue Got Married".
