Well, we've had a look at the three films on Blu, and taken a listen to May's Road Warrior score.

Now comes the time for the biggest and most ambitious score of all three - Maurice Jarre's epic, grandiose, exciting, lyrical and grinding fantasy for Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.

Here you go, folks.

His review - over 10,000 words.

My review - 3 words.

Chris's reviews are more substantial than most CD liner notes!

I really enjoy reading Chris' reviews - it must take him ages to do each one....!

Great review! Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome was one of fave films when I was in my early teens. The soundtrack was also one of the first I've bought (back then more for the Turner songs and because I loved the film than for Jarre's score).

Thanks to your review I decided to give this edition another spin. Truly a marvelous score! Strange but true, also the only Jarre score I've ever heard

I don't think anyone loves these movies more than me! Also, George Miller is my second favorite director, Spielberg being my first. I can't wait for FURY ROAD.

Thanks for the comments, guys! Much appreciated.

Yep, some of these reviews do take some time ... but the intention is always to entertain. When I am covering an older title such as this, I like to think that you can play the disc alongside reading the review so, in effect, we are all going through it together.

So long as you enjoy them, that's the main thing.

Of course, I've still got to cover the first Mad Max!!!!!!

I'll meet you all at the start of Anarchie Road in the Restricted Zone then, eh?

Cheers,

Chris McEneany

PS. I have to say that the reshoots on Fury Road and the new expected release of 2015 is not good news. I have been waiting and praying for this movie and the tentatively mooted follow-ups for what seems like forever. I was made up to see that Tom Hardy is, indeed, sporting a little blonde streak a la Road Warrior. Having just got mine done (again), bought the official Mad Max MFP jacket and Bronze Star ... I couldn't be more fired-up for some fresh post-apocalyptic carnage.

I DO trust in George Miller and Tom Hardy ... but this is not a reassuring turn of events. It'll be a grey streak by the time the film comes out!!!!

Hi Chris! The reshoots could also be a good thing. They're taking their time making a good movie instead of rushing a flawed film. Also, I think a summer 2014 release is a possibility.

Just under a year before this film comes out! I can't wait. Maybe we will get a teaser trailer soon.
