Scream Factory, the horror-thriller offshoot of independent film distributor Shout Factory, is planning to bring to Blu-ray director Paul Schrader's Cat People (1982), starring Nastassja Kinski, Malcolm McDowell, John Heard, Annette O'Toole, and Scott Paulin. The release is expected to arrive on the market in January 2014.

I'd rather watch Jacques Tourneur's original again. wink

Both are good. Tourneur's is a masterpiece, but Schrader's film gets credit for being as complete nuts as it is (plus great music).

Totally agree. I thought Schrader's version was pretty bad and he totally botched the "Lewton bus" effect.
