MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9

WORLD WAR Z 2---Brad Pitt commented on the sequel, "We're certainly talking about it, yeah. We have so many ideas on the table from just the time we spent developing this thing and figuring out how zombie worlds work. We have so many ideas and so much information, we think we have a lot of stuff to mine from. We're going to do our best and see what we get out of it."

SUPERMAN VS. BATMAN---Josh Brolin confirmed he was a candidate to play Batman, and he talked with director Zack Snyder, "We did. I didn't have conversations about it, but Zack, that was part of his idea. It just didn't turn out." He commented on the adverse reaction rom fans on Ben Affleck getting the role, "I've never seen such a global reaction in my life, I feel for him, truly. I would not want to be him right now. The reaction becomes so personal. It's like, 'F*ck this guy, I wish he was dead.' And you're like, 'What? Dude, seriously? This guy is just working like you are. He's doing the same thing you are. He's trying to make the best choices he can... I want him to kick ass and I want everyone to love it and kind of eat their words."

IRON MAN 3---Marvel Studios Co-President Louis D'Esposito said about Mandarin in the movie, "We thought there would be a little bit of a backlash, but the twist was so wonderful and Ben Kingsley is such a great actor that we thought that would overcome. And I think the box office said that we were right in making that decision. We don't want to piss-off our fans, but it's impossible to please everyone. We thought it was a great twist, we thought it was great story-telling, and that's why we did it."

DOROTHY MUST DIE---Tim Kring (HEROES) is in negotiations with The CW to develop a tv series based on the upcoming novel which is a revisionist sequel to THE WIZARD OF OZ. The series/novel is set 80 years after the original movie with an eternally-young Dorothy who is still in Oz. She is now the ruthless dictator of Oz and is aided by the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow and the Tin Man. A young woman from Kansas arrives in Oz and leads a rebellion to overthrow the evil Dorothy and her cohorts.

THE FORGER---Christopher Plummer will co-star with John Travolta in this movie about an imprisoned forger who teams up with his father for one last job for the mob so he can buy his way out of prison to see his sick son.

THE PRINCE---Bruce Willis stars in this movie as a retired mob enforcer who returns to Las Vegas to confront past enemies after his teenage daughter disappears.

YOUR VOICE IN MY HEAD---Emma Watson will star in this movie based on the book about a bipolar woman and the psychiatrist who saved her life.

DEFIANCE---William Atherton (DIE HARD) joins the cast as the ruthless new mayor of Defiance. Anna Hopkins (STEPHEN KING'S DEAD ZONE) will play an Earth Republic soldier/documentary film maker.

THE MICHAEL J. FOX SHOW---Candice Bergen and Charles Grodin will play Fox's parents in the new NBC sitcom.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN---Danny Huston (30 DAYS OF NIGHT) joins the cast as the boyfriend for Jessica Lange's character.

HOUSE OF VERSACE---Lifetime tv movie about the House of Versace fashion design house and the 1997 murder of Gianni Versace in Miami. Gina Gershon stars as Donatella Versace. Premiere is October 5.

BAD VIBES---werewolf movie set in the 1960s psychedelic music scene. John Landis and Elijah Wood are co-producers.

HANNIBAL---Cynthia Nixon joins the cast as an FBI investigator.

22 JUMP STREET---the sequel will have Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill going undercover in a college. Amber Stevens (GREEK) will play Hill's love interest.

SOMNIA---Katee Sackhoff stars in this horror movie about an orphaned boy whose dreams become reality as he sleeps.

THE GREEN INFERNO---sequel underway to the Eli Roth cannibal horror movie titled BEYOND THE GREEN INFERNO. The original movie involves student activists from New York who try to save a dying tribe in the Amazon jungle, but they are captured by the tribe when their plane crashes.

QUEEN OF THE DESERT---Nicole Kidman is in talks to replace Naomi Watts in this Werner Herzog biomovie about Gertrude Bell, the British archaeologist, politician and writer who helped shape the Middle East at the turn of the century.

SUPER BOWL XLVIII---Bruno Mars will perform during the halftime show.

I agree. The pitchline sounds like a script that lost out (but not by much) to Springtime For Hitler...

The World War Z news is good. Sounds thoughtful. And I like Mr. Brolin`s comments re. Ben Affleck`s turn as Batman.

Good grief this sounds horrible. The hollyweird machine is getting desperate.

World War Z was for me the surprise of the year. What with all the negative press, the delays and the re-shoots, I expected it to be terrible but actually it was one of the better movies of 2013. Far better than Star Trek and Superman and infinitely superior to the terrible Pacific Rim job.

I'd be up for a sequel.

Heh-heh. That's exactly what I said when the remake came out. Moorcock should have sued. big grin

Jeremy Irons rocks.

(And an Elric movie MUST have a score by Hawkwind & a dance sequence by Stacia. smile)
