Okay, so I'm simply here to ask about Ira Newborn's score and if it's ever going to see a release? A small score I know, but maybe it can be tacked onto Tommy Boy? Or Coming to America? Those both had similar length scores.
I would love a reissue of the original album along with the complete score added to it. Does anyone know if this score has ever been considered by any labels? Hear any hints? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

The question has been raised before and there is certainly a handful of us who want it, but I doubt it's on the horizon nor do I think the cost of releasing it would likely be recovered. Comedy scores continue to be a hard sell.

Yea I hear ya, but the score sounds more serious if that's any saving grace to the labels lol. Seriously, all I want is the Power to Believe instrumental and the short 30 second track where they're in the back of the freezer truck finally making it to Chicago.

And I just want the music playing during the "He's driving the wrong way!" scene.
Yeah, comedy scores are a tough sell but like the original poster said, perhaps this could be paired with another relatively short Paramount score. (I'm sure there's more music from Ira Newborn's Naked Gun scores that could be released.)
Well I believe with the original album tacked on. Everything combined would run close to an hour.

"Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" are both Paramount, and both Ira Newborn -- that woudl make a great pairing.
"Coming to America" is also Paramount, so all three would fit onto one CD, and the CtA score would drive the sales.
That's a triple combo I'd love.
With PTaA you have Newborn's score, some of which not used and some replaced by new score. That new score was some additional scoring provided by Brian Banks & Anthony Marinelli (no samples on either composer's site).
Hell, a seperate CD of songs selected from both the first two filsm, would be great. And it would be nice to finally have the complete Blue Room "Everytime You Go Away", which is still unreleased to this day.

I love COMING TO AMERICA as well, but I don't see what it has to do with the other two titles at all, apart from being from the same studio. I don't really want more releases like that... I"m happy to have both PARADISE and CAN'T BUY ME LOVE, for example, but they're two very different films that have absolutely zero cast members or creative personnel in common, and the two scores are nothing alike. I'd love if multiple scores which share a disc have some connection other than "being owned by the same corporate conglomerate".... such as sharing a director, as FERRIS and PLANES, TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES do.

Thanks for the tip, i always thought it was an instrumental version of the song made famous by Paul Young, I never knew it was performed by Blue Room. I should have taken the time to read the end credits anyway you can find this particular track on Youtube in the Planes, trains and automobiles version.

Yes, PTAA and CTA are on my want list too.
I've always had a fondness for the score and songs for PTAA. I had the songs album on LP. However, it didn't have the track 'Every time you go away' performed by Blue Room (according to IMDB), played just before and during the beginning of the end titles. Always been fond of that version of the song.

You can find somebody's clever edit on Youtube, that makes it appear extended, when in reality it is not. Still not released.

FBDO sales would be for a song CD. Who here wants the score to FBDO? Show of hands. Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
CtA is a popular comedy film -- where have you been? I've never even seen the unedited version, so I've never seen the boobies. But that means jackshit to me. And the CtA score has the popular, even among non score fans, percussion/orchestra piece for the king, that has not been released. This would hopefully bring in non score fans for sales; not many, but more is better than no more.
