I got it for Christmas from Mr. Sherman himself. For the third year, he and his lovely wife Elizabeth were at my annual Christmas Eve Do. And just before they left, he sat down at the piano and did three songs from Mary Poppins. Here's one of them - it was quite magical.

I know this board doesn't do things like any other board on the Internet - I got the "share" code from You Tube - on my site and Facebook, pasting there you get the actual video to show up, like the one in the post above mine. So what do you have to do on THIS board to get it to show up???

You have to put the URL in between [ youtube] and [ /youtube[ (without the spaces), and it has to be the normal full youtube URL (ie www .youtube.com/watch?v= format, not your youtu.be format).

Is there any difference between the single and the deluxe edition apart of the double disc?

What's the length on the second extra disc?

Thank you

I only have the deluxe edition, but my understanding is that is "disc 1" is the same for both.

Disc 1 (Deluxe) is 45:55. Disc 2 runs about 23:21. Both discs together are about 69:16.

I was hesitant at first, expecting "just" another Newman score.

But this is really a very beautiful and intelligent score. Great stuff!

"To My Mother" is the clear highlight of the score in the film itself. Great stuff.

Composer Edwin Wendler far right, Thomas Newman middle and me. That was a HECK of a night. WOW WOW WOW WOW!

Signed by Richard Sherman and Thomas Newman. TN signed it twice. The first one is in the top left, his QUICK sig, then he signed it bottom right in his other way.

Mr. Popular,

The Academy Awards had an Oscar concert which you probably know/knew about. ALL composers were there and most were easily accessible. Thomas Newman especially. Been a HUGE fan of his forever and was able to snag a pic and a few autographs. I was really hoping Saving Mr. Banks would have one as it was my favorite.

Edwin and I were walking to our car and our knees were shaking. One of the best nights ever. SO thankful to have been able to go. smile
