That's no reason to rejoice. While I didn't enjoy all that narcissistic caveman babble, I think he had a good sense of which film music is distinguished and which is not, however ineloquently expressed.
Ah, a joy to wake up to this news. He brought it on himself with his constant gleeful trolling and idiocy. It is one thing to express your own opinions and tastes, but another to denigrate others for their tastes. He tried to mask everything with his " I'm just having fun" bullshit, trying to play the victim card, but good to be rid of him and his crap
Yor may not be all that bad. I never had a problem with the guy but his constant drum beating over how bad Hans Zimmer is has only made me seek out that composer's work and rethink my view of him. He'll never be a favorite of mine, but more often than not, Zimmer's music works well within the film itself, which is what film music is supposed to do first and foremost.
YOR was a joke account. A bad one at that. And though people thought he had value, well, they're welcome to that opinion and they're welcome to broccoli too since I hate that stuff just as much.
He's gone. It's done. Lets move on.
And if he comes back, he's breaking the rule of no more than one account and out he goes through the door or out the window.
I'm certainly no Zimmer fan nor of the MV/RC sound and I personally feel it has had a deleterious affect on current day film music, but in all the years I've been here I don't think I've posted negative stuff about it. I try to focus on what I like, not what I don't. It just seems to be a collosal waste of time.
Yor was just the opposite and I found myself avoiding his continual negative posts and siding with those who opposed him, not because I didn't sometimes agree with him in his sentiments about the music, but rather because of his highly negative and vindictive way of constantly bashing not only the composer, but the people who like his music. Everyone is entitled to their own likes and dislikes and shouldn't be denegarted for it just because it doesn't fit another person's viewpoint. Not sad to see him and his goofy schtick go.
After such a comment I wouldn't mind you getting banned (apart from me not remembering you contributing ANYTHING worthwhile to the forum in, like, EVER).
Why is everyone dwelling on this? I'm sure he'd have a good laugh knowing people were still talking about him after he was gone. Don't give him that. Just forget him. He's not worth having his own thread, let alone people talking about him repeatedly, right?

I'm not going against DeputyRiley's advice by this posting. I think he offers good advice so I just want to say ditto to what he advocates. Deputy, Mastadge, and nuts_score always surprise me with their balanced advice. I don't agree with them on everything, but I am, as an ancient one here, an admirer of their sagacity and youthful wisdom. (Old dogs can learn new tricks.)
So "The Great Imperial Somebody" decided to ban Yor.
Yor was the only diversion from the usual mundane posts like: "what is the best action score by an non-action film composer? or When will "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" be re-recorded? (not that I wouldn't buy it instantly).
I have a favorite composer too (Dimitri Tiomkin). I know he wasn't perfect and you can make fun of him all day. I don't care and I wouldn't support banning someone for doing it.
Oscar Wilde said "The only thing worse than being talked about is, not being talked about".
Some people take their composer heroes too seriously. Get over it. Those who wanted him banned were the same people who made him important by responding to him in the first place.
Yor could be quite amusing at times and this forum will be a less interesting place for his loss.

Because people like to kick other people when they are down.
Yor was Andre Lux who we had banned years ago for being every bit as obnoxious and idiotic as he is today. I only wish I had researched his identity sooner.
