MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16

THE WALKING DEAD---AMC and Robert Kirkman are developing a companion series to the hit zombie series. Kirkman said, "After 10 years of writing the comic book series and being so close to the debut of our fourth, and in my opinion, best season of the TV series, I couldn't be more thrilled about getting the chance to create a new corner of THE WALKING DEAD universe. The opportunity to make a show that isn't tethered by the events of the comic book, and is truly a blank page, has set my creativity racing." AMC President Charlie Collier said, "We look forward to working with Robert, Gale [co-producer Gale Anne Hurd] and Dave [co-producer Dave Alpert] again as we develop an entirely new story and cast of characters. It’s a big world and we can’t wait to give fans another unforgettable view of the zombie apocalypse.”

GONE GIRL---Emily Ratajkowski is in negotiations to play the mistress in the David Fincher movie based on the novel. Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Tyler Perry and Kim Dickens also star.

PENNY DREADFUL---Billie Piper (DOCTOR WHO) has joined the cast of the Showtime horror series from Sam Mendes (SKYFALL). Josh Hartnett, Eva Green and Timothy Dalton also star.

THE MUMMY---Andres Muschietti (MAMA) is in talks to replace departed Len Wiseman to direct the franchise reboot movie.

ARROW---Grant Gustin will play The Flash which may become a spin-off series.

BEVERLY HILLS COP 4---Jerry Bruckheimer is in talks to produce the sequel starring Eddie Murphy. Bruckheimer was co-producer of the original movie.

THE MIDDLE MAN---Fox pilot underway about an FBI agent and a mob informant who bend the rules to bring down the mob in 1960s Boston. Ben Affleck will direct the pilot which was written by Glenn Gordon Caron (MOONLIGHTING).

ENTOURAGE---a source said the movie based on the HBO series has been delayed due to cast hold-outs, "They wanted to start filming early this summer, but the cast has been on hold. Jeremy (Piven) finally signed his contract two weeks ago. His deal closed August 29th. But there are other members of the cast, including Adrian Grenier and Jerry Ferrara, who are still holding out."

GOOSEBUMPS---Jack Black is in talks to star in the movie based on the children's book series.
