The book comes out tomorrow!

Anyone else excited about it?

I need to read the Shining again. Very curious to see what 'Doctor Sleep' will be like; I'm not that bothered that it's a 'sequel', a lot of his books reference older stories and characters so it's not like he hasn't done that before, but it will be interesting to see what a Shining sequel will be like 'today'.

I´ve read 'The Shining' a few months ago again after I first read it 23 years ago. It´ll be nice to meet at least one main character again. Especially when the author has gotten so much better in the meantime (he wrote the first book 35 years ago).

Amazon tells me, my book will arrive on October the 1st. Can´t wait until it arrives.

I only read The Shining for the first time about a year ago, and loved it. (Also the first King book I've ever read.) Doctor Sleep sounds intriguing from what I've read about it. I'm definitely curious, but am not sure when I'll get around to it. I'm backlogged on reading material enough as it is.

I'm interesting in hearing what others have to say about it, though, so chime in when possible. Without, as Josh said, spoilers. smile

Hopefully if so it would be a more faithful rendition of the novel than the original film was of its source novel. Certainly no Kubrick, and hopefully no flashbacks to "Here's Johnny!" or that pathetic blob of quivering jello, Shelley Duvall. (I rooted for Jack to catch up with her every time she was on-screen.)

My copy of the novel is due today or tomorrow. The Shining (King's original novel) scared the crap out of me, even reading it in the daytime, and I'm hoping this one will be just as good.

Pre-order arrived on my Kindle the other day, Josh, but have been re-reading THE SHINING for the past few days in prep.
