Just wish someone would release Excalibur. I would need no sale to order that straight away.

Received mine yesterday in NYC. No out of stocks for me but I did order the same day that the sale was posted to this forum (I got Dinotopia and the concert set).

Got one order a few minutes ago; the other was processed the next day, so I'm hoping for that one tomorrow!

Trevor Jones / RTVE Orchestra of Madrid Symphonic Concert

This is 300% worth it!

I would not go to 300%. Having listened to this now 2 times, it is a great performance for the most part, but a few parts during the DARK CRYSTAL segment the orchestra lets me down. The biggest issue I have with this release is the applause. They included too much applause on some of the tracks.

DISC 2

Track 12 - Dark Crystal Finale (6:22)- the last 3:00 minutes is applause
Track 13 - Departure - Dominic & Eugene (4:20)- the last 1:20 minutes is applause
Track 14 - Axel Heiberg - LAST PLACE ON EARTH (9:30)- last 5:30 minutes is applause

I understand that during the performance this is from standing ovations, but why include it here? Almost 10 minutes of applause? There was more included through out both CDs, but the last three tracks are unlistenable with all the applause. I was listening to see if Trevor Jones said something...no. Jones was a producer on the album, why would he want all the applause on there?

Considering it is still a limited pressing, now OOP, sealed 2-disc import set of almost two hours of excellent, beautifully performed and recorded music, shipped internationally for only $12 total, griping about a few minor faults seems a tad churlish.

I'm just happy mine arrived today. Listening now, thrilled with it.

Ten minutes of applause during 3 tracks on a music CD? A few minor faults????

I assume your stereo and/or iPod have a skip/fast forward button, which solves this problem very quickly. The lengthy applause is, however, a bit annoying as it takes up space on my iPod. Space that I could use otherwise. So I edited those tracks. Took all of five minutes.

Ah, film-music world problems! big grin

Mine came either yesterday or the day before; since I was among the first to order and they had to come to the rural South, I'm guessing most everyone has gotten theirs smile

Do people actually listen to film music in Mississippi, or is it just you? big grin

Yes, my stereo does have a skip/fast forward button with no remote, so I have to get up anytime I want to skip a track. I do not have an ipod, I do not feel the need and I am still prefer hard copies of my scores. I will just turn if off after the last cue of DARK CRYSTAL.

There are quite a few closet Mississippians on this board! I have quite a few friends in town that enjoy the stuff as well. In this, as in all things, the state gets a bad rap smile

Sleeping beneath my mailbox has been rewarded - Dinotopia has arrived and I have apologized to my mailman.

In all honesty, the delivery time from the UK was prompt compared to some.

I'm a Mississippian! Although I moved away and have lived in Delaware and Pennsylvania for the last 8 years. I am also still waiting for my order to arrive.

Just listened to his Madrid 2 disc concert. This magnificent composer needs to return to "active duty"and rescue us from the tripe being produced today.
