Now the reason it won't work. Bending your arm and holding your wrist in that position (for more than a minute) would be very uncomfortable for the user.

Yes! Now we can be privied to others' annoying conversations again just like when Nextel had their obnoxious walkie talkie-style feature years ago.

Can't we please have the expanded Elfman "Dick Tracy" instead?

This had better be just the tease before they unveil a viable jet pack. I'm sick of waiting.

50 years from now, maybe less, people are going to look back on these years and ask;

"Why were those people so obsessed with phones."

I mean it has gotten kind of screwed up how people are so totally obsessed with phones, and talking or texting all the time. When I see parents at the park staring into the phone displays instead of playing with their kids I think to myself, "that is screwed up." People really need to grow out of technological infancy goo-goo-ga-ga stage.

I agree with the Dick Tracy soundtrack being immensely more important than a phone.

People have no problem bending their arms to hodl a cellphone up to their ear.

People have tolerated far worse than bending an arm. They have tolerated a fixed-wall set where sometimes you had to hold two pieces. They tolerated small holes that you had to move in a circle to dia la nubmer and wait for them to go around. They tolerated the dreaded pigtale phone line and all it's tangleness, and even having to ask an operator to dial a number for you.

Gary Larson had it wrong. People won't be hunchbacks, they'll all be walking around with bent arms after a hundred years or more of evolution.

A couple of things- There is much less stress on the wrist and elbow when you hold a phone to your ear. Also with a wrist phone your eyes are more or less fixed on your wrist. If you hold a regular hand held to your ear, one can still concentrate on where they are walking or driving. Which is why texting is so much more dangerous. Your eyes are fixed on the phone not where you are going.

What is up with everything looking so star trek? I saw the Fox news room has been transformed into the star trek bridge with tiny people sitting at the consoles:

big grin
