THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10

SUPERMAN VS. BATMAN---a rumor says Ben Affleck wants his friend and neighbor Larry David (CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM) for a role in the movie. A source claims, "The pair chatted about the idea with earnest abandon throughout the course of Emmy weekend. Larry has long been courted by the big budget superhero industrial complex, being linked to roles in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man sequels nearly a decade ago. But Ben is somebody he trusts and enjoys spending time with and this could be the right situation for Larry to finally appear in a huge-grossing hit film.
Fun speculation that it could be for the famed Superman enemy role of Mr. Myxlplyx could make this piece more exciting, since Larry is a dead ringer for the character."

REMINGTON STEELE---NBC half-hour sitcom sequel is underway to its 1980s series that starred Pierce Brosnan and Stephanie Zimbalist. The sequel is about Olivia Holt, the daughter of Remington Steele and Laura Holt, who reopens the Remington Steele detective agency. Reuben Fleischer (ZOMBIELAND) will direct the pilot.

FANTASTIC FOUR---reboot movie candidates are as follows:
Mr. Fantastic--Kit Harington, Jack O'Connell, Miles Teller
Invisible Girl--Saoirse Ronan, Kate Mara, Margot Robbie
Human Torch--Michael B. Jordan
The Thing--no known candidates

BREAKING BAD---DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg said he unsuccessfully offered $75 million to Vince Gilligan to write three more episodes, "I had this crazy idea. I was nuts for the show. I had no idea where this season was going. The last series cost about $3.5 million an episode. So they would make more profit from these three shows than they made from five years of the entire series.
I said (to them), 'I'm going to create the greatest pay-per-view television event for scripted programming anybody's ever done,' " Katzenberg wanted to split the additional three hours into six installments which could could be viewed online via subscription, and would charge viewers around 50 cents to 99 cents per episode.

BITTEN---poster released for the Syfy series starring Laura Vandervoort (SMALLVILLE) as the world's only female werewolf. The series is based on the WOMEN OF THE OTHERWORLD novels.

SHARCANO---novel about three volcanoes that erupt and spew out fire-breathing magma sharks that threaten mankind's existence. A journalist, a beautiful marine biologist and a billionaire industrialist team up to save the world from the sharkpocalypse.
Author Jose Jose Prendes said, "The idea was to write a big, epic Syfy channel-style story, but not worry about budget and silly script notes and pull out all the stops. Imagine the best possible version of a sharks-run-amok story and that is what I tried to deliver. While the concept is admittedly cheesy, I made sure the consequences were real and the characters felt like human beings and not cookie cutter cliches. I wanted to write THE STAND meets JAWS, and damn did I have a hell of a lot of fun a long the way!" Publication date is January 27.

THE WALKING DEAD---Steven Yeun commented on if Maggie gets pregnant in Season 4, "You know, I think that's definitely a genuine, um, you know, thing that could be. And, um, obviously, I can't really address that at any point. But you know, there's genuine fears that go along with trying to live a normal life in that world, and that all applies into what makes it more dangerous, or what makes you more vulnerable, so it's all cool."

MILEY CYRUS---porn movie retailer GameLink offered $1 million to Cyrus to direct a porn movie. Its letter to her said, "This gives you a chance to show the world you are not a little girl anymore, and you won't bow to pressures of the likes of Sinead O'Connor, who is jealous of your success."

THE DAYLIGHT GATE---Hammer Films horror movie underway based on the novella about the 17th century Pendle Witch trial.

THE STUFF OF LEGEND---movie underway based on the comic book set in World War II Brooklyn in which a boy's toys defend him against the Boogeyman and an army of the boy's discarded toys who seek revenge against him. The script is by the team of Mike Raicht and Brian Smith (SAW).

DALLAS---AnnaLynne McCord (NIP&TUCK) will have a recurring role as Jesse Metcalf's love interest in Season 3.

THE RACKETEER---movie underway based on the John Grisham novel in which an ex-attorney called The Racketeer holds the key to the murders of five judges.

THE NOVEMBER CRIMINALS---Chloe Moretz is in talks to star in movie underway based on the novel about a drug-dealing high school honors senior who investigates the murder of a classmate.

ECHOES---new sci fi series about a young woman trying to survive after Earth is devastated by two warring alien species. Carl Binder (STARGATE) is the writer/producer.

the pilot, done about two years ago, which ended up not being picked up or shown, was the last [known] thing Joel Goldsmith scored before he passed away. I sure hope we finally get to hear it.

So they're going the teenie route with this movie? frown Kit Harington is awful. Don't know who the other two are Reed possibilities are. I'd be fine with Saoirse Ronan or Kate Mara, though it's interesting that they'd choose an "Invisible Girl" who's 5 years older than their "Mr Fantastic" candidates.

Is anyone else getting sick of these deliberately STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPID SyFy shark movies? Once or twice was amusing, but seriously...cut it out.

Indeed, sounds like they've lost the plot.
