I've only watched two Troughton serials (not counting The Three Doctors) thus far: The Krotons and The Mind Robber so I will choose the latter. Subject to change, of course. I will be building my second Doctor collection from what precious little we have. I adore Zoe and Jamie...
Fury from the Deep is one I really want to see.
Have you read the ABOUT TIME series of books? Obsessively detailed and opinionated as hell; you'd love them. lol
Oh, the FSM board is renowned for its love of vintage Doctor Who. Look at the everlasting "Seventh Season" thread. They must be talking up a storm about "Inferno" and the Silurians.
None of the surviving serials from Patrick Troughton's tenure are on my favorites list. My favorites go onward to Jon Pertwee's 1st season after a few of the William Hartnell stories and skip past Troughton altogether.
I feel that after Verity Lambert left the show, DOCTOR WHO had a flux of producers (John Wiles, Innes Lloyd, Peter Bryant, Derrick Sherwin) who did not remain long enough with the programme to impart their stamps of individuality. Not until Barry Letts entered as WHO's line producer did the series radiate a particular identity.
Having said all this, I'm still very interested (from what little I've seen) in THE ABOMINABLE SNOWMEN and THE EVIL OF THE DALEKS.
Also, I expect I'd like THE MACRA TERROR & THE FACELESS ONES.
Find a survey about the second doctor played by Pat Troughton from 1966 to 1969:
1. What are your favourite second "Doctor Who" serials? 2. What are the missing second "Doctor Who" serials you wish the most?
1. From the six serials I watched on DVD, here's my order of preferences:
Top favourite ones: "The War Games": the best in all departments. "The Mind Robber": for the general concept of an alternate world of fiction. "The Seeds of Death": for the gloomy Ice Warriors feel. "The Tomb of the Cybermen": my introduction to the deadly Cybermen.
Least favourite ones: "The Dominators" "The Krotons"
2. The one I deeply wish: "The Faceless Ones": for the sneaky intruders concept. "Fury from the Deep": same reason. "The Ice Warriors" (complete): the introduction to the Ice Warriors.
PLUS: All Daleks serials (i.e., "The Power of the Daleks", "The Evil of the Daleks") All Cybermen serials (i.e., "The Moonbase", "The Wheel in Space" that introduces Zoe, "The Invasion" complete)
