The tune that's giving me the most pleasure today is "Wander My Friends" from BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Season One by Bear McCreary. If you have it and it got set aside at some point, I think you'll find it's an evergreen.

What are you playing today that's pushing all the right buttons?

AMELIA-GABRIEL YARED-Why I love film music. A touching score that I can hum the theme all day afterward.

TO ZAP- You know a thread like this should not end if only the board members would participate and put in here the scores they really like through the year. Come on folks give it a shot, this can be so informative so others can check out what you like as well.

Thanks, Dan, but it looks like there's no interest in this.

Well, I think it's a great idea. I nearly replied yesterday, but ran out of time. Right now, as a result of the Danny Elfman concerts, I am constantly playing his Alice's Theme. Out of all the music on the list, it was one of the few I was completely unfamiliar with (Pee Wee and Frankenweenie being the others), but the one out of those that really impressed me.

It has both the depth, ryrthm and melody I absolutely love when Mr Elfman really hits the spot! My favourites on the nights (London and Leeds) were Mars Attacks and Batman/Batman Returns, the latter being what turned me onto both Burton and Elfman's work, as with so many other fans.

But by that second performance the Alice piece was really starting to lodge in the mind. It really is an incredible piece of work. I had the movie on my tv recorder recently for a later viewing and accidentally deleted it! I ordered the soundtrack yesterday, but have been constantly played it on YT. Everything about this theme is amazing. The strings, the choral work, the lower registers, and it's a nice lengthy piece. Haunting isn't the word!

Mako from Pacific Rim. It's lovely.

(Honorable mention goes to The Shatterdome.)

I looked it up. You’re right. We never do. Terrific show and score. Ergh, it’s been TWO YEARS!
