Don't let's ask for the moon. But with the definitive release of the Max Steiner 1944 Oscar-winning score for "Since You Went Away" it would surely be a treasure to have a definitive CD release of the Max Steiner 1942 Oscar-winning score for "Now, Voyager".

Is this the best example (outside of "Gone with the Wind") of Steiner's ability to create a brilliant character-focused sonic bath of audio angst and lush romantic longings?

A Golden Age Bette Davis bliss-fest!

I have the Charles Gerhardt CD NOW, VOYAGER: Classic Film Scores of Max Steiner, but I haven't played it in ages. When that album first came out on LP, it was the only place whatsoever to hear a decent performance of KING KONG, but Gerhardt's suite was ecclipsed shortly afterward by Fred Steiner's full-length KING KONG album.

When I think of NOW, VOYAGER I mostly think of the song "It Can't Be Wrong." If Jeri Ryan sang it on STAR TREK, it can't be wrong.

Here is the Gerhardt suite, consisting of the Warner Bros. Fanfare, Main Title, Love Scene, and Finale.
