Imagine being handed sheet music you have never seen previously of a piano score from Jerry Goldsmith's EXPLORERS that was originally composed for 90 musicians. Then imagine having someone shove a camera in your face and asking you to sight read it on the spot. That's what Richard Kraft did to pianist Mike Farrell. This is the result.

This project is the opposite of doing something to be commercially released. Just a quick, wacky, loose, fun fan thing.
A gang of us got together for a goofy afternoon loaded with a massive pile of music that none of us had reviewed previously. The idea was to get a quick taste of what lurked within all of this obscure sheet music without the pressure of trying to do anything slick or commercial. One take, sight-read, improvisational read-through moments is what we wanted to capture.
We had a blast playing around... wrong notes, off-pitches, fumbled moves be damned!
Hopefully watching these will provide even a fraction of the spontaneous joy we had in doing them.
I wish I could play like that. This is I guess the only thing in life that could make me remotely jealous of anything or anybody.
Wowowow. Hats off - to both composer and performer.
But this also proves something I've always said - that only in piano solo performances the true spirit or "core" of a theme or music comes out, stripped of any orchestral / orchestrating trickery.

I realize this thread is a few years old now but Ill give this a try.
Is there any way you could scan the sheet music for this and upload it somewhere or email it to me? It would break my heart if this faded away and no one else could read it and learn to play it.
