Jerry Goldsmith composed the theme to BANDOLERO! which was turned into the song THERE'S GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY with lyrics by Sammy Cahn.

Here singer Rena Strober sight reads the tune with "dancers" Stephen Van Dorn and Richard Kraft improvising a little backup. Mike Farrell accompanies on the piano.

Jerry would have been so proud!

Lovely to hear this, especially as I only recently discovered the version by Hugo Montenegro, which has a charm all its own:

The melodic side of Jerry is the most underrated there is. I once put together a 2 CD set of over 50 songs he wrote. There could easily be a Michael Feinstein or Barbra Streisand does Jerry Goldsmith album but since they are not written in a context where people think along those lines it will never happen. Although come to think of it Barbra did do RUSSIA HOUSE on her last album.

Who designed the choreography?

Fun, and Rena wasn't shrill as she was in the last one I watched ("The Big Country"). I wish you would put your location (city, state) in your profile -- if you answer here, it might be like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
