After many years of pain and illness my mom has finally gone home to be with the Lord.
As this community has been quite dear to me for many reasons, I felt it important to share it with you all. I loved my mom dearly and miss her already.
I'm not religious but you have my thoughts and best wishes with you Storyteller. I lost my own mother who I dearly loved back in 2001 and still miss her greatly, my heart goes out to you and yours.
Second, I forgot to mention that her last days were surprisingly quite. She didn't seem to be suffering and went quite peaceably. She just simply stopped talking, eating, or taking medication about two days before she passed. No gasping, or vomiting, or anything like that.
My condolences Storyteller... glad to hear she went peaceably. When my father passed away (aged 84) last year I felt it was merciful. Luckily he too was comfortable and went very quietly.

My Mom passed 25 years ago this year My dad 20 years ago ago this year as well.
You have my thoughts and prayers....
Just remember she'll be with you in your heart for he rest of your life..
My condolences, Fred. It's rough, but know how you are feeling. My Mom recently passed and we had the funeral service several weeks ago. It's great that you were there with her and were able to say goodbye.
