Because I'm such an artsy snob, genre films rarely make my top 5, let alone the #1 spot. But Star Wars (it will always be plain "Star Wars" to me. "A New Hope" was added three years later.) is such a perfect, super-exhilarating adventure movie that I couldn't deny it the honor.
