Bear McCreary’s sweeping orchestral score for Da Vinci's Demons, featuring the Emmy® Award-winning Main Title Theme, was meticulously researched to accurately represent the time period, without being bound to it. The score combines orchestra, Renaissance instrumentation, choir and ethnic soloists with the renowned Calder Quartet and surging contemporary synthesis. “For Da Vinci's Demons, I looked to the real-life Leonardo for inspiration. He famously wrote backwards and forwards, so I decided to write music for him in the same way," said McCreary. "I wanted to write the Main Theme as a musical palindrome, so it sounds the same whether played forwards or backwards. The challenge was to balance that intellectual idea with the dramatic needs of the story. I think the end result works beautifully and would make Da Vinci proud." This Collector's Edition double CD features 12 bonus tracks not available on the digital album.

Da Vinci ordered! Been waiting for a long time for this one. Possibly the best new score this year. Would have liked to have bought Pet Sematary but as I've got the Varese and finances are getting tight as Christmas approaches (and Cocoon is coming!), I need to hold fire.

Thanks for the signed booklet La La, I have a few releases signed by Bear and this will join the collection!

Nice to see Da Vinci sell so well, what was that, three hours?

For an album previously released on digital download, its good to see continued demand for a physical CD.

Wow, nice surprise, another archival Goldenthal release from La-La, thanks! Anything from the vaults is really much appreciated! smile
Haven't seen the movie yet, so let's see what was missing from the original album. I'll be happy to rediscover the score with that new disc. It's one of my lesser played Goldenthal scores so far, the Penderecki-style strings ("De Natura sonoris") are notable.

Thanks again, and so glad you and Bear are on great terms with each other. I'll gladly order any of his signed CDs through your website.
