Laurence Olivier starred in the 1960 British film, THE ENTERTAINER as a failing third-rate music-hall stage performer who tries to keep his career going even as the music-hall tradition fades into history and his personal life falls apart.
John Addison composed the song "Why Would I Care" with lyrics by author John Osborne. The film was remade for American television in 1976 with Jack Lemmon with songs by Marvin Hamlisch.
Here singers Rena Strober and Stephen Van Dorn sight-read the song, muster up some accents and improvise a few dance moves. They are accompanied by pianist Mike Farrell.
