THE EXPENDABELLES---the all-female spin-off of THE EXPENDABLES is underway. Meryl Streep, Cameron Diaz and Milla Jovovitch are in talks to star said producer Avi Lerner. He added,
"The action movie will be spectacular - and in nothing inferior to the three male movies of the THE EXPENDABLES. There will be battles, special and visual effects and stunts - the spectacle will be equivalent to what Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Bruce Willis and Jean-Claude Van Damme have done."

ARMY OF DARKNESS 2---director Fede Alvarez (EVIL DEAD) replied to a fan's question if he's directing the sequel, "Sam Raimi will."

SONS OF ANARCHY---creator Kurt Sutter was asked if there will be a Season 8, "...I think if I got halfway through this season or at some point next season I felt like I couldn’t finish it, I’d probably be able to have a conversation with the network. … (But) I think after seven seasons I don’t know if we can maintain the rhythm and the pace that we’ve done, and I wouldn’t want to extend it and have it become something that it’s not. So my plan is still to finish it out in seven."

CHARMED---CBS pilot remake underway of the witch series that ran on WB from 1998-2006. Original star Alyssa Milano tweeted, "The thing about them doing a #charmed reboot is... it just... it feels like yesterday. It feels too close." Rose McGowan commented, "They really are running out of ideas in Hollywood. lame lame lame lamertons."

THOR 3---Marvel Studios Kevin Feige commented on a third Thor movie, "Thor's next adventure will be AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. But there are things you will see at the end of [THE DARK WORLD] that certainly hint towards and could lead towards a third Thor adventure. We definitely have a story we'd like to tell." He also commented on a standalone Loki movie, "I don't think [a Loki movie] would be before THOR 3 if there is a THOR 3."

STRIKE BACK---Cinemax renewed the series for Season 4 which will be the last season. It will film in Asia and Europe.

HOUSE OF CARDS---Netflix's Ted Sarandos commented on if there will be a Season 3, "Our intent is that the show keep going for sure. It was a 26-episode commitment. It was not our intent that it just run for two seasons. Talks are in progress right now, so stay tuned"

Are Marvel sensing interest drying up a big? Surprised they are being some pessimistic about a third movie.

I'm surprised they haven't approached Helen Mirren (she never seems to say no to anything).

Helen Mirren in an Expendabelles movie?

Clearly, that would be too much of a good thing.

I doubt anyone in the risk-averse bean counter offices of Hollywood care. They only seem interested in back catalogue now.

She was excellent as an "action star" in the RED movies.

I hope they get around to ass-kicking heroines like Sigourney Weaver and Linda Hamilton eventually.
