It has a horrible title, but is "Fatso" worth seeking out?

    It's ok.
If you saw John Candy in "Only the lonely" and liked it maybe you'll like this one.
I liked it but found myself feeling more sad than laughing. Don't think would like
    to see it again.

Movies of 1980 I love to revisit:

    Airplane!
    Caddyshack
    City of the Living Dead
    Empire Strikes Back
    Inferno
    Nightmare City
    The Changeling
    The Ninth Configuration
The Shining (recently saw the extended cut again but concluded I prefer the shorter cut)

The Shining (recently saw the extended cut again but concluded I prefer the shorter cut)

Has the footage of the deleted epilogue in which Ullman meets with Wendy and Danny and rolls a ball to the boy ever been found?

FATSO is a unique blend of comedy and pathos, and definitely leans more towards the latter. I saw it for the second time a few years ago, and found that I responded better to the humor, since I knew this time that it's not just a straight comedy.

I didn't care for the novel of "The Man with Bogart's Face," but I'm still intrigued with the movie. Sacchi sure looks like Bogey, but how skilled is he at really seeming like him in manner?

Of course, he's not perfect, but he's at least as good as Jerry Lacy was in PLAY IT AGAIN, SAM, moreso, because Sacchi is on-screen continuously, vs. the occasional appearances of Lacy. In mannerisms, Sacchi is excellent, and at certain camera angles, you'd swear that Bogart himself was playing the part. The plot is somewhat complicated, but the script basically gives the Bogart character an unending string of wisecracks. Some are duds, but many are funny.

I hope I can track it down. Looks like it worth a viewing just for the gorgeous actresses (Phillips, Hussey, Rowe) alone! wink

Not sure if it's been found but it hasn't been released so far, I stumbled across the screenplay pages of that sequence while looking up the differences between the versions.
