At the risk of seeming to nag about this title, please, please, Intrada or whoever, release this title in time for Christmas. It's nearly a year now since we were told it was 'forthcoming'!

I'd put money on it, that's if it's all done & dusted of course. Christmas is a religious holiday (ha, well sort of), & people will be spending money, so I'd think it would make good business sense to release it late November/ early December. We shall see.

Christmas is a religious holiday

Hopefully before Christmas.
But if holidays are a consideration... the film's central storyline (the plagues in Egypt and the exodus) relate to the Passover holiday which is at the end of April. And the holiday celebrating the giving of the commandments on Mt Sinai takes place around June. So we might be in for a wait.

This is what makes sense to me also.

Actually the painfully long and seemingly endless wait suggests that they are actually "saving" it for the 100th anniversary in 2056. But, they will obviously have to wait till Christmas of 2056, or maybe Easter of 2057.

I just listened again this morning (on U-Tube) to the title music for "The Ten Commandments". I saw the film years ago and thought it wasn't as good as the actual music!! The score gave the film a nobility and grandeur which was sadly lacking during the proceedings. That cheesy over-acting by Anne Baxter (she was just too old and cold to be a coquette!!).

But the music aroused expectations of grandeur and spectacle in audiences only coming to grips with the biblical epic. Therefore, the music contained all those social expectations and, IMO as in the case of 'Ben Hur', film scores like these not only 'set the scene' for what was to come but heralded the unrivalled supremacy of Hollywood!!

"The Ten Commandments" is an absolutely wonderful score.

So....if we Pre-order now, that will be @ $25.00 for the CD, and then @ $100,00.00 for
the Cryogenics, so that we can come back and listen to it ?

"So let it be Pre-Ordered...So Let us be Defrosted !" big grin big grin big grin

Those who ask to pre-order it before the release date, if by Intrada, will be forced to walk around a desert for 40 days and 40 nights.
