Generyc but listenable. Judging from the album, Lorne himself is a terminator. Until the last cue 'Terminated' it is pretty much a new Transformers score. Where did you find the album?

Oh, thank you. I was looking for it yesterday and nothing showed up. Today it does. Since I am a fan of the whole saga I have downloaded this one - despite Lorne Balfe whose work I am not a fan of. So far, it is not as overbusy as I feared. But of course it does feature all the tricks of generic scores these days. Still, I like that it offers lots of quiet moments in between and that it tries to emulate ideas from FiedelĀ“s masterpiece. And it does feature FiedelĀ“s main theme again and again - very welcome!

The first, in particular, is GREAT! But like you, I was also disappointed in Balfe's score. Much of it sounds like rather generic Remote Control stuff, with the occasional "Fiedel percussive hits" here and there. Granted, I've only heard it in the film itself, so I'm willing to give the album a chance, but I was NOT impressed. Then again, I hate listening to the original Fiedel scores too, but at least they have a very pronounced presence in the films. This did not, really.
