This month, the Dallas Wind Symphony presents another concert dominated by film music. This time, there are several pieces from the golden age of Hollywood. The program includes selections from:
The Wizard of Oz (1939) The Red Violin: Chaconne for Violin and Wind Ensemble The Banner Saga Main Theme (2013) Oklahoma! (1944, 1955) Moon River Fantasy Colonel Bogey March (1914); famously used in The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957) Captain Blood (1935)
The performance will be at the Meyerson Symphony Center, 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12.
The Wind Symphony has done several of these concerts in the past few years. If you live in the North Texas area, help support the interest in live performances of film music.
