Some time ago weren't there hints about a golden age release - a Tiomkin - from La-La Land during 2013?

Speculating, I'd expect Circus World/Magnificent Showman.
Although perhaps considered too late for golden age, it stands out as the omission among the Bronston-produced spectaculars. Only excerpts have made it to CD, I believe.

What I'd be really overjoyed about would be if some of the holy grail westerns were released.
That: Gunfight at the OK Corral,
Duel in the Sun,
Rio Bravo and
Night Passage
can be unavailable (and probably gone forever?) is thought a crime in these here parts pardner.

Perhaps not golden age - but diamond triumphs ( = DT)

I heard rumors about WILD IS THE WIND, but nothing definite, and not sure if it was to be just a CD release of the lp tracks, or expanded in some way.

Please GOD, let it be "Wild is the Wind"! I've been waiting for that one for what seems forever!

I am really surprised, but elated concerning a Golden Age release from LALALAND. I just wonder if Ray Faiola is planning any more Golden Age releases on his Chelsea Rialto/SAE label. That's where I get my Tiomkin scores.

I wish "The High and the Mighty" would get a complete official release.

Ditto "Giant".

Rio Bravo or Gunfight at the OK Corral would be great. If only...

i'm guessing a complete GIANT will be one of those releases. i would hope TENSION AT TABLE ROCK and THE COMMAND would also be included in any future release. also, what about ADVENTURES OF HAJII BABA which i would like to see come out some day?

This thread went through the Bermuda Triangle but, unlike so many planes and boats, it's back.

'The Alamo' - complete, original tracks, finally, please?

'The Alamo' - complete, original tracks, finally, please?

Are they 'available'?

The certainly could be. I've got a good chunk of them shared with me decades ago by an 'insider'. And no - they're not for sale or loan or or CDR-burns or anything unless the legal owners contact me and can't find better versions for a proper, legitimate release.

As far as I know the film is owned by MGM-not a good sign except for Mad World. Who presently has music rights? Perhaps the music owners don't even know what is available? Perhaps one of our favorite labels could hunt all of this down if they knew what was available. Or do these 'labels' already know?

These are my top two wish list of Tiomkin scores.

A few weeks back MV/LLL said one of the Black Friday CDs will be a golden age title. So we shall see come Nov. 29th. MV also said he had some golden age CDs planned for 2014 and that he liked Tiomkin a lot. So there is hope! smile

MV said he would try to satisfy score fans who prefer different eras . I know he prefers more recent times since they sell better and he is running a business. He said basically that in a previous post. Still I am hoping that at least one score from the 50's or 60's will be part of the Black Friday releases. If it's a Tiomkin score something other than CIRCUS WORLD would be preferred. GUNFIGHT AT THE OK CORRAL would be a dream come true. I can say the same for THE HIGH AND THE MIGHTY which at one time was available as an unmentionable.
