The latest CD announced by Buysoundtrax is a re-recording of the electronic scores for John Carpenter's first two films -- the science-fiction comedy DARK STAR (whose score had previously been released only on a dialogue-laden album) and the urban siege thriller ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 (with its ridiculously catchy main theme). The scores were arranged and performed by Alan Howarth, Carpenter's frequent musical collaborator.
