On preorder now: Collection "Horreur à la française" • Volume V

Preorder • Delivery expected for January, 7th 2019.

The Omega Productions Records is proud to present you an exclusive double feature entitled Philippe d'Aram for Jean Rollin, opus 3 & 6 and including the soundtracks of The Living Dead Girl (1982) and Dracula's Fiancee (2002), put together for the first time on a single CD.

As a music player inseparable of the universe of Jean Rollin, Philippe d'Aram composed for The Living Dead Girl a partition both dark and melancholic. Twenty years later, the similar sounds of Dracula's Fiancee – from percussion to synthesizers and string pieces – will echo it. This musical polyvalence serves perfectly the images of the master of the fantastic French style.

Straight from composer's original master tapes, this edition contains for the first time the full score of The Living Dead Girl, including three unpublished tracks. With the help of Daniel Gouyette, Dracula's Fiancee is published for the first time on physical media in its full version.

The 16-pages booklet includes bilingual (French / English) internal notes by Philippe d'Aram and an introduction by Lucas Giorgini, as well as numerous shooting pictures from the director's archives. This edition also offers two reversible covers.

Limited collector’s edition of 500 copies with a postcard.

The referencing concerning Daniel J. White's archives continues... and there is a lot of work!

After many analyzes, listening and many collages (according to various scattered sources), five master tapes from Jess Franco / Daniel J. White are now complete, ready to be digitized, restored and edited.

Some titles will be available during the year 2019, others will follow fairly quickly.

And don't forget: Preorders for The Living Dead Girl and Dracula's Fiancee continue until January 7th at our website. The CD is now at the pressing and we will ship all packages at this date.

I would love to see Guy Bonnet's "Seven Women for Satan" (1976) released !!!

And, of course, "Faceless" (1988).
I think there had been single vinyl and CD-compilation releases but after 30 years the rights might be available again.

Greetings, Lucas Giorgini.

Your thread came to my attention for the 1st time today and I appreciate all your efforts in your chosen areas/genres of French language cinema.

Might I ask how far back in time are you willing to go regarding the age of the recordings?
Will you be able to produced any soundtracks from the 1950s or 1960s?

Thank you for your interested!

It can be possible, of course. French'xploitation is generally between 60's and our days. I personnally start this incredible period with Les Yeux sans visage by Maurice Jarre. Who knows?

Thanks, Lucas!

I hope you won't mind if I make suggestions in this thread?

One (more to come) example:

Faces in the Dark (1960) [aka Les visages de l'ombre by P. Boileau & T. Narcejac]

https://youtu.be/AofONJvyhxA

Although this is U.K. production in English (and some French location filming), I expect its music by Mikis Theodorakis was recorded in France. The Ondes Martenot is performed by Arlette Sibon.
Doubtful the master tapes exist, but you may share my enthusiasm for this score (which is only 3 instruments: piano, jazz bass fiddle & Ondes Martenot).
Composer Mikis Theodorakis is still with us ... so perhaps hopes for his own tape copies remain possible.

Other Theodorakis genre music which I suspect was also recorded in France include Shadow of the Cat https://youtu.be/q9vVS-OL4eU and Five Miles to Midnight https://youtu.be/3bqeddStiS0 (with some source music cues by Jacques Loussier).

I hope I haven't frightened Lucas G. away from FSM with my suggestions. smile

Here's a few suggestions from French-language cinema:

Contes Immoraux (1974) by Maurice Le roux
&
Alice Ou La Derniere Fugue (1977) by Pierre Jansen (a title purportedly available within the PEMA archives)

Any and all of Pierre Jansen's music for films directed by Claude Chabrol would be most welcomed by me. Previous soundtracks of such Jansen music typically contain short suites which barely last beyond 12 minutes in length. I hope Jansen's estate has master tapes with more music than what have been on albums thus far ...

PEMA Music itself doesn´t exist anymore in France since 2014 or 2015. Everything what they had nowadays belongs to Sugar Music in Italy. Unfortunately, Sugar states in their current CAM/PEMA catalogue that - although they are the rights owner - they don´t have any tape material for ALICE OU LA DERNIÈRE FUGUE at all. This is a real pity. I know that a few years ago Music Box had been interested in releasing the score, but if there is nothing in the Jansen estate there is probably nothing they can do about it. Only a miracle could help.

Out today: the official soundtrack releases of The Living Dead Girl (1982) and Dracula's Fiancee (2002) on CD. Also available on many digital plateforms (Bandcamp, iTunes, Google Play, Deezer & co). Music composed by Philippe d'Aram.

Vol. V - "Philippe d'Aram for Jean Rollin, opus 3 & 6" - The Living Dead Girl / Dracula's Fiancee • Philippe d'Aram • TOP-011CD

The Horreur à la française collection offers a panorama of original French horror and fantastic films, rare or unpublished in CD format. Electronic, orchestral or conceptual scores, this anthology seeks to pay tribute to the forgotten composers who have handled the notes of thrill and horror on the big screen.

The Omega Productions Records will meet you on February 13th for the revelation of our next two releases.

We will release on April 24th, not one, but two (!) soundtracks in our future collection Nouvelle vague horrifique.

If we kept the secret for long months on the first title, we had the delusion of grandeur and we have accepted a second project just three weeks ago, for the same release date! This brings to 12 the number of soundtracks planned on CD this year ... and an extra double vinyl.

However, it will not be a coincidence: beyond the cost that these two editions represent for a small label like ours, it was strictly necessary that they be released the same day...

We will announce Wednesday, February 13th, our next two titles scheduled for April 24th, 2019: two CDs, two vinyls (including a 2xLP), volume I and II of our Nouvelle vague horrifique collection.

The Omega Productions Records had the chance and the honor to be able to edit two soundtracks by the most controversial French director of the 2000s... in direct collaboration with the greatest icon of French pop.

Rendez-vous on March 6th for preorders' opening, that we hope... fierce! More informations soon.
