The discussion over the new La-La Land Superman got me to thinking about what scores I've bought/upgraded the most times on CDs.
There are way too many scores that I've bought 2 or 3 times, so here are the one's I've identified as have bought/upgraded 4 times:
E.T. - Original (DDD!), Remastered 1996, 20th Ann., La-La Land
Superman - Original, Rhino, Blue Box, La-La Land (make it 5 if you count the Debney re-recording)
A couple that came close and/or will probably have another edition:
Close Encounters - Arista, Expanded, La-La Land (I'm missing the Varese)
Poltergeist 2 - Original Intrada, Varese, Kritzerland (I'm missing the first Intrada Limited and the last Intrada)
The Omen - Original, Expanded, Deluxe (I'm sure there'll be a 45th or 50th Anniversary and of course a Definitive!)
Star Trek:TMP - Original, Collectors, La-La Land (The LLL is fairly definitive, but the score sells so there'll probably be more)
And the #1 most bough/upgraded scores are the Original Star Wars Trilogy
For all three I have the Original (in both the Polydor and RSO labels), the 20th Century Fox Box set, the 2-CD RCA booklet expansions, and the 2004 re-masters (in the box set).
Empire, though, is my favorite, so in addition to the 5 mentioned, I also have the 2018 remaster (my Holy Grail of the original LP version) plus the Charles Gerhardt re-recording.
And if they ever let La-La Land and Mike Matessino at them, I'll be buying those also.

Oddly, it's gotta be Superman. I think the only one I missed was the Japanese disc with the complete original album.
Star Wars is close behind. Although I've bought more re-recordings of Star Wars than Superman.
I can't imagine what another edition of Star Trek: The Motion Picture would be. The ghost of Jerry comes to your house and plays it?
Maybe I'm being naive, but most of the re-issues these days seem pretty definitive. Not "Well, if we HAD better sources we'd use them but they don't exist anymore" and then they eventually turn up.

For me, Morricone's The Big Gundown. Five times.
On 8-track tape; Viva Music label; GDM; Remastered Verita Note, Grindhouse CD included with the blu-ray.
Star Trek The Motion Picture. Four times.
On LP; Original CD; Expanded Sony; LLL edition.
A number of the Bond scores I've repurchased 3 or 4 times.
Quite a few scores I've upgraded at least three times.

I guess it's Ben-Hur, but I don't usually buy the same music more than once. I don't have many expansions in my collection.
Same principle and same score (initially bought the Rhino longbook and later bought the FSM), though I also got Julius Caesar twice because the first time I tried to get the FSM, I wound up with the Intrada recording instead, and only finally got the FSM last year.

Ben Hur, Greatest Story Ever Told.
Those are my two favorites, so it makes sense.

Oh I almost forgot! Superman...plus I must mention Capricorn One, the Omen trilogy, and Boys from Brazil. Either I or my parents had all those scores, and I've bought them several times total over the years. All top 12 favorite scores.
