Saw the trailer for this film before IT-2.
It looked horrendous!
Like an even worse re-do of TANK GIRL.
Haven't heard anything by Pemberton as yet that has aroused my ears.

Not even Steve Jobs? Otherwise, I totally agree and am never quite sure if I like him or not. I thought Spider-Man was a bunch of digital glitches (made sense in context, I suppose) and Schifrin's The Plot re-purposed to be less like a theme somehow?

LOVE Pemberton. I think he's one of the most exciting "new" composers right now.

Definitely - The Man From UNCLE and Ocean's 8 are hugely enjoyable and a step away from the current standard scoring styles.

Also, Molly's Game and his score for The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance are great.

Actually, high expectations by this announcement.

Also, the score will be release by WaterTower Music, with a separate album for the songs by Republic Records

I'm just confused why the studio butchered "Justice League" to tone down the darkness, and then immediately follows it up with Joker and Birds of Prey which are clearly aimed at the older audience.

Disappointing.

Look at the photos and the trailer -- like "Joker" they are looking for a specific kind of score and I'm sure Pemberton will dutifully give that and not try any better.

Because the a-holes who butchered Justice League are no more in charge.

Because those characters are actually dark and it fits them. DC's problem was that they wanted to make their characters edgy and cool instead of what they naturally are. It's because Nolan's Dark Knight was such a hit that they wanted all their characters to be like that.

Do you read Byrne's Superman?, is a very different Superman (and actually, is the version who inspired Snyder to his Superman) and more human and less powerful.

Actually, Superman wasn't like the 1978 version (which i love) always

Pemberton is one of the current composers, who seems to peak my interest as of late. I've enjoyed his scores to The Man From U.N.C.L.E., King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword, All The Money In The World and, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. I think he's a talented composer, who seems to think outside the box with his scores, but I wished he had been hired for another DC movie instead of whatever this is.

"Birds Of Prey" in name only looks like rubbish. And yes this movie is more of a Harley Quinn movie than a Birds Of Prey movie. That was pretty obvious to me when the silly title was revealed. Most of the characters don't even resemble their comic book counterparts and it also looks like Harley is replacing Barbara/Oracle as the leader of the group. This movie might actually rival or surpass how terrible the short lived and forgotten early 00s TV show of the same name was, which I didn't think was possible. I wasn't impressed with Margot Robbie's portrayal of Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, which was another awful movie. So with her starring (or rather hogging the spotlight from the title characters) and producing this movie already lost most of my interest. "Birds Of Prey" is basically a vanity project for her. So good luck to Pemberton. He's got his hands full with this one.

I agree for the moment. I stopped buying CDs in 2010/2011 until 2017/2018, so I'm still catching up with lots I missed. The digital titles can be gotten whenever, but CDs delayed means CDs that have ever hiked prices. I stopped buying because of financial probs, not because I went off film (& TV) music.

Maybe this will get a pressed CD from Amazon UK. Didn't the same thing happen with the Joker score?

A CD-R with booklet and all is still better than digital only. So far I haven't had any problems with my CD-R discs.
