Don't miss Starship Troopers either. If you love big bombastic action scoring it's a must-have.

Hopefully you'll get to The Blue Lagoon, pretty well the first time I heard his music.

And I like The Wind. There are a lot of tracks up on YouTube. This is a score that could have easily been a score for a Rocky film with tracks like Downwind, Winning & The Dinghy Race. You'll probably gravitate to this one pretty easily.

Don't forget Conan the Destroyer too! The first Conan, Starship Troopers and Robocop are my personal favourites of his. Great stuff! Oh A Whale For the Killing is ace too!

Also, some excellent lesser known ones include Flesh + Blood, Cherry 2000, Farewell to the King, and Flight of the Intruder.

The new recordings of Conan The Barbarian and Conan The Destroyer are superb and essential Basil Poledouris scores! Nic Raine and the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra did such an amazing job with these recordings.
The Destroyer also includes the Adventures of Conan which is also fantastic.

Conan the Barbarian - Blue Lagoon - Robocop, i'd recommend these all 3 have different styles there beautiful works colourful & slick.

He, he...always funny with such threads, wherein the composer's entire filmograpy is mentioned at some point, so that the topic starter is none the wiser in terms of recommendations.

But any reason why you're just discovering Poledouris now, Henry?

I like Poledouris...but of all JUNGLE BOOK scores his is by far the weakest.

So that explains that Conti obsession. Not knowing even the most basic stuff by others.

I'll take Jungle Book over On Deadly Ground and Under Siege II any day of the week.

I don't think that's right. I'm very familiar with other composers. But with Poledouris, with the exception of QUIGLEY DOWN UNDER the movies he's done don't interest me so I haven't seen them.

There's plenty of composers I haven't fully explored yet, like Rachel Portman. Even composers like Basil. I have most of his Sci Fi/Fantasy scores but it was decades later before I looked into other genres he composed for.

Robocop your next-buy be-careful where your buying it, Ebay UK has fake Intrada's 12.99 same for Fright Night & Back too the Future, probably that same seller who was earning off Ghostbusters, Knight Rider & The Deep.
