After living with this score for 43 years and seeing LP and CD releases come and go without addressing this bizarre error, I finally went into iTunes and changed Mojave Club to Mojaba Club. My work here is done.

Haha exactly. I don’t know why I’m always so afraid to change cue titles! I generally do it when the original incarnation of the score - album or complete tracks - had titles that were better, or more descriptive.

Yeah, that's a crazy error on the LP, isn't it? It hardly seems likely that an in-period Egyptian nightclub would be named after a desert in California. I wonder if Marvin Hamlisch heard it wrong in the film and went with Mojave as his own assumption.

One can only imagine the Soviet-style show trial you would have endured at the hands of film score geeks had this "egregious error" occurred in a John Barry Bond score, where it would have actually mattered.

You mean as in Thunderball (1965):

- is it Chateau Fight or Chateau Flight?
- is it Café Martinique or Cape Martinique?

These labelling differences have bothered me for years .... ! smile

"Space Lazer Battle" ... *LASER* is an acronym, you can't swap the 'S' for a 'Z'.

Some of these things, like "Cafe Martinique" vs "Cape Martinique" smack simply of handwritten titles being misread by the type-setter!

Cheers

Is 'Try' from OHMSS supposed to be 'Tracy'?. Possibly handwritten as Tr'y

Field day with the EMI re-issues...

May Day "Jumpers"... (should be "Jumps") (AVTAK)

The Chase "Bond" theme (should be "Bomb") (Octopussy) thus ruining the joke, by the way.

etc. etc.

Wow, I've never noticed that before. iTunes now corrected as well smile

Hmm.... how'd I already have the correct "jumps" but the incorrect "Bond" on this one...?
Maybe Jumpers is too obvious an error.
Ah well, now corrected thanks, better late than never...

Feel free to point out any other incorrect titles.

Intrada’s Cliffhanger - Being Tricked should be Being Tracked!

Or is this just about Bond track typos?

Here's another one.

THE LAST VALLEY, the track called Vogel Leaves The Valley.

Nope, that's not Vogel leaving the valley!

Did they put the wrong track on the album at that point?

Is it an earlier version? (I don't think it fits though!)

The music where Vogel does leave the valley is freakin' awesome.

Mind you, what's called Vogel Leaves The Valley is freakin' awesome too. It's just not that!

Oh, I do hope that one day the complete master recordings of that and Deadfall show up.

Cheers

I've seen that queried before and you could be correct but for me, given John Barry did not re-name/correct it for his CBS re-recording I'll stick with the given title.

Also, the music flows from, or just after the Baccarat scene: isn't Banco effectively Try (not literally but meaning I will try to beat you, the banker).

Whatever, after 50 years it remains one of my favourite JB melodies and is a perfect demonstration of what the current JB007 scores are missing (along with decent themes, action music et al. smile)

Put me down for copies, too - incorrect track titles, or not. (Somewhat off topic): The Last Valley (1970) was the first JB non-JB007 soundtrack/score I bought and it is my favourite film score ... bar none.
