Maybe my knowledge of modern patches and synths is really off but some of those instruments don't sound synthetic.

They still put CD players in cars????? Well Mutant, I was stunned when we picked up our 2018 Kia Sportage and were told it did not have a CD player. Salesman said CD players are not in cars anymore. My husband's older sedan still had one, but I was bereft. I play my scores in my car. This year my husband decided to trade in his sedan, and we wanted another SUV. No CD players in 2020 models. Then my last stop was at a Subaru place. When I got into the Ascent, I jokingly asked the salesman to show me where the CD player was. He said, "Right here." "Ordered!" I will keep this car until I die. Great sound system too. My wife and I bought our first new car over a year ago now. A Subaru Impreza hatchback. Made sure to get the CD player. Love the car! Not saying I'm a fan of the trend towards only releasing things digitally and on LP... but if something is released digitally, it isn't *too* difficult to burn it to CD-R... Yavar

Maybe my knowledge of modern patches and synths is really off but some of those instruments don't sound synthetic. There is definitely also a real orchestra involved for this series' scoring; it's quite visible in the extended behind the scenes episode on the score for Disney+. Just didn't make it into the music video for some reason. Yavar

Great video, very informative. I love Göransson´s work in general. For me he is one of the most interesting new film composers around, and while I had to get used to this new "Star Wars" sound I consider it now fantastic. Exactly the way "Star Wars" should be developed further. No point in trying to repeat Williams´ magnificent, towering achievement. Everything has to move on. By the way, I love how Göransson says the name "John Williams", completely shy and in awe.

Great video about Göransson's work. And to have to come up with something following in the footsteps of Williams must be a little intimidating. I pretty much immediately fell in love with his theme. It's memorable and has you humming it after only a couple of episodes. I'm excited to see how much he expands on this theme and others for season 2.
