I always thought that Williams' album re-recording of The Fury was better than the film's actual soundtrack. Better performance, better recording, superior experience all around.

Definitely the 2 Flint albums! Not just the sound quality, but the selection of material, the editing out of repetitive and overly silly frills, and the overall whittling down to just the essence.

Quite a few of the Tadlow recordings are certainly better than the originals, especially Quo Vadis.

Yup, plus the Patton re-recording. A lot of Tadlow's, The Alamo, Fall OF The Roman Empire, The Vikings. Rozsa's 70s recording of Quo Vadis, the Intrada Ivanhoe (Rosza), & a lot more.

The original soundtrack album recording of Patton. I was disappointed at how thin the actual film tracks were when FSM released them, but fortunately the Intrada edition provides both versions and in further improved sound. Either way, the re-recorded tracks are my go-to, especially for the Patton march which has never been bettered. Indeed, I'm always disappointed at how Goldsmith reworked the ending of the march for the concert version so instead of that brilliantly abrupt end that just leaves the echoplex trumpets, there's a short coda which gives it a more traditional style ending. Good but not as dramatic as the original.
Shout out to the RSNO re-recording which is still good, but a bit softer than the original, but a great companion version.
