Hi Folks,

Please forgive this slightly off-topic commercial interruption, but our friends at Creature Features are launching this Kickstarter for a gorgeous NIGHT GALLERY art book!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nightgalleryart/rod-serlings-night-gallery-the-art-of-darkness?fbclid=IwAR2VpTuoob7mpc8LwqECPFr6UCUJE8OaAfKKJATg74q5dWA0dhJ-n8iX0bI

Maybe Universal will get to the music one day...?

An earlier thread about this in CORRECT forum wink . But why kickstarter? I thought this was going to be a regular purchase? Will it still be available if they don't reach their goal?

https://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=140587&forumID=7&archive=0

Of course, would love a soundtrack release.

The only thing I'd like to see more than a Night Gallery soundtrack (well...besides a complete Twilight Zone set) is a proper HD remaster of Night Gallery on Blu-ray

I don't think 'Night Gallery' was ever shown on UK TV.....I'm intrigued ?

Yikes, I wasn't suggesting you buy it! If you hate it, I'll get the blame. This is a "nostalgia" series for fans, meaning it made a strong impression in one's youth, but is less effective as one ages (even while still in one's youth). It's so "1970s Universal TV" that it might seem bizarre to a first time adult viewer today.

I love all those old TV series...'The Twilight Zone'...'The Outer Limits'....'The Invaders'....Thriller' et al.

Yeah, but this is the 1970s, and the production values and scripts were very uneven. Even "professional" promoters of the series like Guillermo del Toro have issues with it. You said you were intrigued, so I'm trying to temper your expectations because the show was notoriously hit-or-miss.

At the very least, seasons 1 (the one Rod Serling had the most control over) and 2 have some excellent installments which are nearly on par with Twilight Zone. Season 3 is...not so great due to budget cuts and network interference and Season 4 doesn't exist. Period.

A backer on kickstarter wrote that there were "rumors for years of attempts to put out a soundtrack." Have there been? I don't think I've seen one rumor about a release. Anyway, Taylor responded:
"We have it on the highest authority that master tapes of the original scores still exist in pristine condition, though like anything tied to a major studio, requires complicated contracts and legal clearances. However, the success of our book has improved our prospects on every level, so keep your fingers crossed."
Let's hope so.

Is that a close-up from the (Gerry) Anderson Entertainment puppet remake of POTA?

Really want this, but money is still a little tight atm.

What are the odds this will get printed in quantity for standard distribution for retailers like Amazon, B&N etc?
I read over the whole kickstarter page and didn't see anywhere that said it was only going to be available via kickstarter.

Creature Features will sell it on their site end of year or early next. It might be available from other retailers, but that's just my speculation. The Kickstarter was to cover additional costs, offering perks for those who could afford to contribute.

That's great to know!
Early next year should work better for me.
