"BATGIRL---Warner Bros. shelved the superhero movie starring Leslie Grace, Michael Keaton, Brendan Fraser and JK Simmons after it performed poorly in test screenings. The studio will take a tax write-down to recoup its $90 million production costs.The tax write-down would be a better deal for Warner Bros. because it would take another $30 million--$50 million to market it theatrically and its income on HBO Max would be worth less than the tax write-down. The studio will not be able to monetize the movies by streaming them or selling them to another studio. Warner Bros. also shelved SCOOBI!: HOLIDAY HAUNT and will also take a tax write-down on it."

What a waste of the Keaton Batman character. I guess they ruined that, too.
I imagine at some point they'll re-edit it, film new scenes, toss Holt's score and have it re-scored, then dump the new version on an HBO pay service.

What they should have done is make a sequel to "Batman"/"Batman Returns", and have Tim Burton and Elfman back, where it focuses on an older Keaton Batman who is retiring and mentoring Batgirl. And ignore the Schumacher films.

Don't take this the wrong way, but six episodes of some TV show aren't the same as a superhero film with a big-name character heading it, a returning actor/character, during a time period where superhero films are still "the thing".
(Is your show on IMDb? I can add it if not. Plenty of shows and pilots on there that never aired a lick on television, like a thirteen-episode UPN series)

Keaton's Batman will be in The Flash Movie due out June 23, 2023. But I agree I was looking forward to seeing him in this.
Ummm, that film may also get shelved. Warner doesn't know what to do with it since Ezra Miller, the guy who plays the Flash, is in a ton of legal trouble and has basically ruined his career after numerous violent outbursts and attacks on others and being mentally unstable and possibly kidnapping a minor.
Who knows if that Flash film is ever going to see the light of day. I suppose they could re-cast it and do re-shoots, but at this point that is probably not economically feasible. And the backlash Warner will get if they release it anytime soon would be a big stain on them after all that has come out about Miller in the past 6-8 months.
This all really sucks because both Keaton projects are probably going to be canned/shelved for very different reasons and reasons that had nothing to do with him. I feel bad and am mad because I want to see him again as Batman.
I like the idea that someone mentioned about Burton, Keaton and Elfman getting back together to do another Batman film.

I feel worse for Keaton's fans. Now if Flash gets cancelled, that's it for anyone wanting to see Keaton back in the suit.
