What a pity it is that Vince did so few scores.

But in 2006 he actually scored the Gary Busey movie SOFT TARGET together with Kenny Meriedeth. I wonder how that one sounds.

He was definitely a cool and gifted composer.
His Rocky IV score is proof of that.

Purchased the cd immediately when I read the news. I am listening to it now (played it many times already!), it's absolutely the best live performance of this score I have ever heard! Thanks again! I hope my cd will be signed!

I think too it sounds fantastic and it's nice to have the instrumental UP THE MOUNTAIN within the song like it is in the movie. Hearing this live, just gives me goosebumps thinking about it again. You can imagine after playing this live the audience jumped to their feet with excitement as the music just is so motivational and makes you feel good and that you can do anything.

When I meet with Vince as he's a client of mine, I usually put on some music to listen to in the car and always on my way to see him I always say to myself, "I can't believe I rep him."

He's been very busy with some video game work and just signed on to score a pretty big project called NRCity. The last year or two he's been busier than ever, which is great smile

Curious to hear this symphonic suite and also how Vince's score will be treated on the upcoming Director's Cut of Rocky IV.

Here is an interesting documentary on Stallone working on his new edit during the pandemic:

Edit: Great I could still get the bundle AND listen to the Rocky IV release immediately thanks to Note For Note making available a digital dowload link. I love this policy as it can take forever for the CDs to get here.

Hello there... New to the forum.

Glad I ordered the Rocky IV suite. I do have a question... can anybody tell me of any of these Vince Display cds feature any of the score elements from Staying Alive or where I can find them? Cheers smile

Vince didn't write any score to Staying Alive, that was Johnny Mandel, no idea if it's ever been released. A good place to start is www.soundtrackcollector.com. Good luck.

Vince DiCola co-composed with Frank Stallone the music to 8 of the tracks from Staying Alive, as I have this soundtrack. It was even Grammy nominated in the category of Best Album of Original Score.

What I am after is more of the score elements to the songs featured in the film, that are not on the CD. Most notably the dance sequences at the end of the film. They are awesome smile

Saw the new cut tonight. Interesting that a good portion of DiCola’s underscore was replaced with existing Conti music… including a piece from Rocky V.

Even as a fan of Conti, this doesn't seem like the best creative decision.

The majority of Vince’s music was there. I was sitting next to him at the premiere in Philly and he was fine with the few early on moments a cue from Conti was used in tender/emotional scenes.

It was one fun night seeing it with Sly who was a few feet away from us as well as Burt Young who was also in attendance.

Btw the Rocky IV: The Symphonic Rock Suite is now streaming everywhere as of today and the new director’s cut is that played last night of Rocky IV is also available today too!
