Just watched the first episode on BBC. Interesting "spaghetti" style to both the cinematography and the score by Jusid. I'm not overly familiar with his work but this score needs a release.
Yes I just binge watched all series, great series acting ,directing, story ,cinematography and score all deserve recognition. Score has nods to Morricone in addition to Copeland and even flourishes of john Barry in brass and staccato rhythms particularly in episode 3 of Jerry Goldsmith.
Hope it gets a wide audience .In U.K BBC and rest of world Amazon

I'm really excited for this...Jusid is pretty amazing, IMHO.

Enjoyed the first two episodes. The music is refreshingly good. Very Barry in a few key emotionally-charged dialogue scenes.

Overall, I liked this series and some of the music. I won’t write spoilers.
Things I didn’t like:
1. Didn’t care for the songs. The songs pulled me out of the storylines. Also, the ambient music sounded very MODERN, and for me didn’t fit a movie that takes place in 1890.
2. Long passages of dialogue reminded me of Tarantino movies and didn’t always enhance my understanding. Places in this series take patience.
3. Couldn’t stand the Over Acting by the villain played by Rafe Spall. He was a repulsive psychopath, and his over acting grated on my nerves. The worst part about him is that his accent was so thick, I couldn’t understand 90% of his dialogue. I had no problem with other accents, just his.
Things I loved.
1. Emily Blunt is stunning, especially in the last two episode. I also really liked Chaske Spencer and a few other supporting actors.
2. This really isn’t a spoiler because it is obvious in the trailer that she comes to America to avenge the death of her son. Audience members will make certain assumptions. I did. Our typical assumptions are decimated. I didn’t see the twists and turns of various narratives coming.
3. I kept wondering why the series would leave the two main character to focus on what seemed as unnecessary chronicles or possibly just fillers. I loved how ALL those narrative threads were relevant and finally braided together in the last two episodes.
4. Except for the music issues I mentioned above, I really liked the music. Much of it sounded western with a nice main theme used in places. Jusid also composed some lovely, emotional, semi romantic music.
5. Cinematography was gorgeous. Also, this is hard to describe, but I’ve never seen such unusual camera angles in a series or movies. The photography was very unique.
I was very emotionally engaged through most of this series, especially in the last two episodes. Moreover, I’m still pondering various story lines, characters, and the surprises. It is nice to have to think at the end of a series.
Note, there is only one youtube about Jusid and The English. It is not his music nor in the series. Hopefully, some of his music from this series eventually will be on youtube.

Coming from England I found no problem with Rafe Spalls accent in fact if i closed my eyers i thought it was Tom Hardy from Peaky Blinders. I would have rated this series as one of the finest of the year, the bittersweet ending was beautifully realised.
