I only have vague memories of the score for this film but I do remember paying attention because I knew Chattaway from his work on Trek. Will have to check this one out.
Yes, it's a wonderful score! I particularly enjoy the very 1980s blend of orchestral and synth elements, with the synths providing unique colors and textures rather than merely trying to replace live instruments. It's also a good example of Chattaway's ability to find the emotional core of a film. Whether in MISSING IN ACTION, MANIAC or SILVER BULLET, he never allows genre trappings to overwhelm characters.
Really looking forward to it. The original release was always on my radar to get, but so far that never happenend. Now's the time to get this one! Great!

I wonder why Intrada always first introduces a new title using a low-res picture. First impressions matter so much, as other labels seem to know. For those unfamiliar with a certain release, a great display of the cover art in high res can often be the reason why someone might get interested in something. At least, that’s often how it goes with me. I’ve often bought La-La Land Records-releases I was unfamiliar with but that peeked my interest just because of how a title was first presented to me. Too bad.
I have a soft spot for this movie, which I saw in 1985 when it came out and haven't really re-visited. I don't recall the music really, but will likely pick this up.

Move closer to the screen. A little bit closer. closer. There, you got your high res!

Whenever I think this board can't get anymore nit-picky and ridiculously whiny a post like this comes along to prove me wrong.
Anyway, really loved this film when I was kid. It also started my love for Stephen King. Can't really remember the music though, it might well be almost 30 years ago since I last saw it. Will check out the samples once released. I do dig the covers, lo-res pictures or not.
I was 10 when this movie came out and love the film and score, probably my favorite by Chattaway. "Joy Ride" always makes my heart swell. I didn't see it in the theater but rented the VHS tape and caught it on cable a few times, thereby securing its place in my pantheon of nostalgia. A revisit is long overdue!
I'm trusting Intrada to include the version with 'wolf howls' in the bonus section. It's essential for anyone who grew up with the LP and CD. It will be fun to hear it without them, too.
